DEVICE AND METHOD FOR RADIOSCOPIC EXAMINATION OF A STRIP-SHAPED MATERIAL HAVING A SUBSTANTIAL COMPONENT OF RUBBER OR PLASTICS
A device and method for the radioscopic examination of a continuous strip-shaped material of rubber which runs continuously in particular. During the movement, the strip-shaped material is x-rayed by a radioscopic measurer and the entire cross-sectional surface is detected so that foreign bodies or defects present in the material are detected according to their position and orientation. An elimination device removes the previously identified foreign body during the feed movement of the material in that a tool, configured as a punching tool, of the elimination device is moved synchronously with the material.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TIRE INSPECTION
Among other things, a tire inspection system (100) and method are provided. A radiation source (116) and a detector array (118) are configured to rotate about an axis of rotation. During a first examination of a tire (104), the tire (104) has a first orientation relative to the axis of rotation, and during a second examination, the tire (104) has a second orientation relative to the axis of rotation. For example, between the first examination and the second examination, the tire (104) is at least one of shifted with respect to the axis of rotation or rotated about a tire rotation axis (e.g., perpendicular to the axis of rotation) to change the orientation of the tire relative to the axis of rotation. Such rotation and translation of the tire (104) are carried out by using a conveyer belt (114) and a robotic arm (602). In this manner, imagery of the tire (104) may be developed, which can be inspected to identify irregularities, etc. in the tire (104), for example.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANUFACTURING TIRE MEMBER
Continuously performed is a process of applying, by an X-ray inspection device, X-rays to a predetermined length range from a top surface side of a tire member while conveying the tire member in a longitudinal direction by using a conveying device to acquire image data based on X-ray transmittance. The image data of the predetermined length range continuous without gaps in the longitudinal direction is acquired. Based on contrast in each piece of the image data, a magnitude of variation in the longitudinal direction of a distribution of a constituent member formed of unvulcanized rubber having a larger mass and a higher content rate of a specific component in the tire member is calculated by a calculation device. The variation is corrected by controlling, based on the magnitude of the variation, a rotation speed of a screw disposed in at least one extruder by a control device.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR INSPECTING QUALITY OF TIRE MEMBER
To determine the magnitude of variation in predetermined quality in a longitudinal direction of an elongated tire member formed by bonding a plurality of types of constituent members, X-rays are applied to a predetermined length range of a tire member, which is elongated, from a top surface side of the tire member while conveying the tire member in a longitudinal direction using a conveying device to acquire image data based on X-ray transmittance of the predetermined length range. The image data is input into a calculation device. Based on contrast in the image data, the magnitude of variation in the dimension in the width direction of a constituent member in the longitudinal direction is calculated by the calculation device, the constituent member being formed of unvulcanized rubber having a larger mass and a higher content rate of a specific component in the tire member.
