A method for plane-wave or fan-beam ultrasound tomography includes: controlling, by a processor, a multi-channel ultrasound array controller to control a linear ultrasound transducer array to emit plane-wave or fan-beam ultrasound into a biological tissue, the linear ultrasound transducer array including a plurality of transducers; receiving, by the processor, plane-wave or fan-beam ultrasound waveform data from the transducers, the plane-wave or fan-beam ultrasound waveform data including reflections of the plane-wave or fan-beam ultrasound from the biological tissue; computing, by the processor, a synthetic ultrasound-waveform inversion from the received plane-wave or fan-beam ultrasound waveform data; and computing, by the processor, an image of the biological tissue from the synthetic ultrasound-waveform inversion.
SMART PACKAGING FOR IMPROVED MEDICATION REGIMEN COMPLIANCE
The present disclosure enables apparatus and methods for tracking medications and/or product units via smart-packaging concepts. Embodiments include sensors that monitor the state of a blister-card package having an unpatterned lidding film by measuring the impedance of each dispensing region of the lidding film that defines a portion of a blister. In some embodiments, the impedance is measured via a plurality of contact points arranged on opposite sides of each dispensing region, where the contact points are resistively or capacitively coupled with the lidding film. In some embodiments, the impedance map of a measurement region on the blister card is derived via electrical impedance tomography or electrical resistance tomography, where the measurement region includes a plurality of dispensing regions.
Acoustic wave image generation apparatus and acoustic wave image generation method
An acoustic wave image generation apparatus for generating a photoacoustic image and a Doppler image is provided with a setting unit that sets a region of interest in the Doppler image, and a receiving-aperture controlling unit that sets receiving apertures of an acoustic wave detection probe for detecting photoacoustic waves to apertures smaller than all receiving apertures that the acoustic wave detection probe has, on the basis of a size of the region of interest, and for setting positions of the receiving apertures on the basis of a position of the set region of interest.
Method and apparatus for enhanced visualization of anomalies in a structure
Methods and apparatus for enhanced visualization of anomalies in a structure. The method comprises: acquiring pulse-echo laser ultrasonic wave propagation imaging video data at a multiplicity of points in a scan area on a surface of a structure; post-processing the pulse-echo laser ultrasonic wave propagation imaging video data using multiple-time window amplitude mapping to create a multiple-time window amplitude map; and displaying the multiple-time window amplitude map on a graphical user interface.
Nondestructive multispectral vibrothermography inspection system and method therefor
A nondestructive multispectral vibrothermography inspection system includes a fixture to retain a component, an ultrasonic excitation source directed toward the component retained within the fixture, a laser Doppler vibrometer directed toward the component retained within the fixture, and a multispectral thermography system directed toward the component retained within the fixture. A method for nondestructive multispectral vibrothermography inspection of a component, includes generating ultrasonic excitations in a component over a broad range of frequencies; determining a spectral signature in the component from the excitations; comparing the spectral energy signature against database 270 of correlations between vibrational frequencies of a multiple of components and the spectral energy distribution thereof, and classifying the component based on the database data.
PARS imaging methods
A dual-modality photoacoustic remote sensing combined with optical coherence tomography (PARS-OCT) system for visualizing details in a sample, the system comprising one or more light sources configured to generate (1) one or more excitation beams configured to generate signals in the sample at one or more first locations below a surface of the sample; (2) one or more interrogation beams incident on the sample at one or more second locations; (3) a sample beam; and (4) a reference beam.
Method for the non-destructive testing of the volume of a test object and testing device configured for carrying out such a method
A method for the non-destructive testing of the volume of a test object, during the course of which a volume raw image of the test object is recorded by a suitable non-destructive imaging testing method. Then, those regions of the volume raw image are identified that are not to be attributed to the test object material. It is checked whether an identified region is completely embedded in regions that are to be associated with the test object material. If necessary, such a region is assimilated to those regions that are to be associated with the test object material, forming a filled volume raw image. Finally, a difference is generated between the volume raw image and the filled volume raw image, forming a first flaw image.
ULTRASOUND DIAGNOSTIC APPARATUS AND DISPLAY METHOD
A probe operation is supported in ultrasound diagnosis of a breast. A tomographic image includes a mammary gland image, a pectoralis major image, and a boundary image between the mammary gland image and the pectoralis major image. By detection of the boundary image, an approximate straight line approximating the boundary image is calculated. An inclination angle of the approximate straight line is calculated. When the inclination angle exceeds a threshold, a support image showing that a probe contact posture is inappropriate is displayed. When the inclination angle is less than or equal to the threshold, a support image showing that the probe contact posture is appropriate is displayed. When the inclination angle exceeds the threshold, a CAD function may be stopped.
ARRAYS OF ACOUSTIC TRANSDUCERS FOR PHYSICAL ANALYSIS OF BATTERIES
Systems and methods for analyzing physical characteristics of a battery include arrangements of two or more transducers coupled to the battery. A control module controls one or more of the two or more transducers to transmit acoustic signals through at least a portion of the battery, and one or more of the two or more transducers to receive response acoustic signals. Distribution of physical properties of the battery is determined based at least on the transmitted acoustic signals and the response acoustic signals.
