Chromatography column frame and method of conducting maintenance on and packing of a chromatography column
A chromatography column frame comprising at least two legs, a support arrangement connected to said at least two legs, and a holder connected to said support arrangement. Said holder is arranged to releasably hold an adaptor rod of a chromatography column, so that the adaptor rod is prevented to move in a horizontal direction and so the adaptor rod is allowed to move in a vertical direction.
HOISTING AND HOLDING SYSTEM FOR CHROMATOGRAPHY COLUMN
A holding system for holding and hoisting a chromatography column of one or more chromatography columns is disclosed. The holding system includes an upright member and a plurality of holding members movably arranged along the upright member. A first supporting member is positioned at an end portion of the chromatography column, wherein a holding member of the plurality of holding members is configured to be engaged to the first supporting member. A second supporting member is positioned at another end portion of the chromatography column. A holding member of the plurality of holding members is configured to be engaged to the second supporting member. One or more hoist assisting members may be also present. A hoist assisting member is operatively connected to the holding member engaged to the first supporting member. The hoist assisting member is operable to move the holding member connected to the first supporting member for hoisting the chromatography column.
Method for sanitization of a chromatography column
The invention discloses a method for sanitization of a bioprocess chromatography column, comprising the steps of: a) providing a bioprocess chromatography column with a packed bed of separation resin particles and a movable adapter, b) with the adapter in contact with the packed bed, conveying a sanitization fluid through the packed bed to a column outlet; c) raising the adapter to provide a gap between the packed bed and the adapter, d) lowering the adapter to close the gap; and e) conveying an equilibration liquid through the packed bed to a column outlet.
Dynamic axial compression for preparative columns using external compression
A dynamic axial compression column is disclosed herein. This dynamic axial column utilized external compression to prevent the creation of end plate space in the column. The dynamic axial column can include a tube defining a first opening, a second opening, and a lumen extending there between. The dynamic axial column can include a first end plate assembly sealing the first opening and movably extending at least partially into the lumen via the first opening, a second end plate assembly sealing the second opening, a plurality of rods extending along the outside of the tube and connecting the first end plate assembly and the second end plate assembly, and a first plurality of compression devices external to the tube and engaging one of the plurality of rods to bias the first end plate assembly towards the second end plate assembly.
