Each of the first plurality of perforations may be parallel to a first direction. The first layer may comprise or consist essentially of a second plurality of perforations formed through the second layer and arranged in a second pattern of rows. Each of the second plurality of perforations may be parallel to a second direction. The first plurality of perforations and the second plurality of perforations may be configured to open in response to a pressure gradient across the first layer. A second layer may comprise or consist essentially of a manifold, and coupled to the first layer.

System and methods for the treatment of wounds with negative pressure and instillation of peroxide pyruvic acid
In one example embodiment, a system for treating a tissue site is disclosed comprising a dressing adapted to contact the tissue site and provide a fluid seal between a therapeutic environment and a local external environment, and a solution source fluidly coupled to the dressing and adapted to deliver an antimicrobial solution comprising a peroxy -keto carboxylic acid, such as peroxy pyruvic acid, to the tissue interface. The system may further comprise a negative-pressure source fluidly coupled to the dressing and adapted to provide negative pressure to the therapeutic environment after delivery of the antimicrobial fluid to the therapeutic environment. In another example embodiment, a method for treating a tissue site is disclosed comprising positioning a tissue interface to contact the tissue site, covering the tissue interface and the tissue site with a drape to provide a fluid seal between the therapeutic environment and the local external environment, and delivering an antimicrobial solution comprising peroxy -keto carboxylic acid to the therapeutic environment before providing negative pressure to the therapeutic environment.
POSTOPERATIVE AUXILIARY APPARATUS
A postoperative auxiliary apparatus, comprising an apparatus built of low-density polyethylene, coated with elastic cotton fabric, with a shape capable of transmitting a resulting pressure, which is concentrated by supporting means by bandage, elastic fabrics or cotton fabrics, and said pressure assists both in healing burns and in decreasing keloids, in supporting body parts, accelerating these procedures compared with other techniques.
pH Indicator Dressing for Monitoring of Wound and Infection
Wound dressings, methods for forming the wound dressings, and methods for using the wound dressings are described. Wound dressings include a polymeric composition that includes a biocompatible polymer and a pH indicating agent. The polymeric composition can be at a wound contacting surface of a wound dressing in the form of, e.g., a fiber, a hydrogel, or a microsphere. The color of the polymeric composition as determined by the pH indicating agent can indicate the presence of infection or a chronic wound state. The wound dressings can be used for early detection of healing abnormalities in acute, chronic, or burn wounds.
FOAM STRUCTURE WOUND INSERTS FOR DIRECTIONAL GRANULATION
A wound treatment system comprises a wound-treatment apparatus and a wound dressing coupled to the apparatus. The wound dressing includes a foam structure wound insert having pores with a greater cross-sectional area when viewed from a first direction and a smaller cross-sectional area when viewed from an orthogonal direction. Methods for making such wound inserts may include compressing foam structure material having pores with a substantially uniform cross-sectional area. Methods for treating a wound using a wound insert.
Reduced-pressure surgical wound treatment systems and methods
A reduced-pressure system for treating tissue, such as damaged subcutaneous tissue, includes a shaped dressing bolster for placing on the patient's epidermis and substantially sized to overlay the damaged subcutaneous tissue. The system further includes a sealing subsystem for providing a fluid seal over the shaped dressing bolster and a portion of the patient's epidermis, and a reduced-pressure subsystem for delivering a reduced pressure to the sealing subsystem. The reduced-pressure system may develop a force, which may include a vertical force that is realized at tissue site deeper than the epidermis or a closing force directed towards the incision. The shaped dressing bolster is shaped to evenly distribute the force. Other methods and systems are included.
Fabric sleeves covering toe and finger blemishes and treating said blemishes
A system is provided comprising a columnar sleeve of stretchable fabric, the sleeve produced in various skin tone colors and configured to slip upon an individual toe or finger and an absorbent padding configured for attachment to an inside surface of the sleeve, the padding configured to cover about one half of an interior circumference of the inside surface, the padding optionally infused with at least one of pain killers, antiseptics, and soothing gels. The system also comprises wax paper covering the padding prior to use of the sleeve, an applicator shaped to facilitate slipping the sleeve upon the individual toe or finger, and convex-shaped flex bands placed lengthwise into the sleeve. The flex bands exert downward pressure on one of a toe and a finger and are placed in a U-shape, thus promoting the downward pressure.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ADHESIVE-FREE WOUND CONTACT COMPOSITE MATERIAL
The invention relates to a process for producing a composite material for wound dressings, comprising the following steps: (I) providing a first film, having a first film surface and a second film surface running virtually parallel to the first film surface; (II) mixing an NCO-terminated polyurethane prepolymer with at least water to give a polyurethane prepolymer/water mixture, (III) applying the polyurethane prepolymer/water mixture to at least one part of the first film surface to form a layer, the layer having a first layer surface which is in contact with the first film via at least one part of the first film surface, and having a second layer surface which runs virtually parallel to the first layer surface; (IV) covering at least one part of the second layer surface with a further film,
wherein the bond strength between the first film and the layer and also between the layer and the further film is greater in each case than the tensile strain at break of the layer.
The invention further relates to a composite material produced by the process of the invention and also to a wound dressing comprising such a composite material and also to the use thereof in a wound dressing for improving the absorption of wound secretion and the distribution of secretion in the wound dressing.
