Dry pad
Provided is a dry pad, including a wound-covering membrane formed by arranging a fiber containing a hydrophilic polymer that is swollen by an exudate secreted from a wound, a hydrophobic polymer, and a dry wound-healing agent that is released through swelling of the hydrophilic polymer and is difficult to store in a liquid phase, and a first release member, which is a support on which the fiber is arranged and which is separated from the wound-covering membrane.
Combined compression and absorption dressing/bandage
A combined compression and absorption dressing/bandage, which includes a short stretch compression bandage and at least one absorptive wound dressing comprising at least one absorbent layer of a non-woven fabric of any one or more of cotton, viscose and polyester fibers, the absorbent layer having an operative inner face and an operative outer face, the at least one wound dressing being bonded to the short stretch compression bandage with its inner face towards the bandage and the outer face facing away from the bandage.
Article for absorbing a physiological liquid, such as a dressing
An article having properties allowing same to absorb a body fluid. The article includes at least three paths for the propagation of fluid from a fluid capture zone to at least one storage and/or evaporation area, each fluid propagation path being delimited by a fluid barrier preventing the passage of liquid from one path to another.
WOUND DRESSING
A method and apparatus are disclosed for dressing a wound. The apparatus comprises a sealing layer comprising at least one orifice, an absorbent layer over the sealing layer, absorbing wound exude and a liquid impermeable, gas permeable filter layer over the absorbent layer.
Anisotropic Drapes And Systems
An anisotropic wound drape for treating a wound on a patient includes a flexible sheet for placing over a tissue site. The flexible sheet includes a first isotropic zone, and a second isotropic zone. The first isotropic zone and the second isotropic zone are configured to provide the flexible sheet with anisotropic stretching properties. The anisotropic drape may used as part of a reduced-pressure wound treatment system. Other systems and methods are also presented.
Pouch-shaped wound dressing system
A wound dressing system having a capillary membrane system arranged in a pouch-shaped wound dressing that is closed at its outer edge. The pouch-shaped wound dressing having an upper face, a lower face, and an interior formed from planar materials with the lower face permeable to fluids. The capillary membrane system is arranged into the interior of the pouch-shaped wound dressing.
Pressure-sensing compression bandage
A pressure-sensing compression bandage having a plurality of pressure sensors provided to indicate the pressures applied by and/or the pressure gradient created by, the applied bandage at various locations along its length when the bandage is applied to a limb or other extremity.
Hernia repair device and methods
An improved abdominal hernia repair system is presented comprised of a silicone layer backed up with a knitted or woven polypropylene fabric layer, the silicone layer possessing a regular pattern of slits that permit equilibration of fluid pressure across the device. A variety of therapeutic substances can be applied to the hernia repair device to promote healing, including aloe and other medicinal preparations. A layer of water soluble or water insoluble anti-scar compound is also present, the preferred compound being Salinomycin. An improved inguinal hernia repair system is presented that is identical to the above except it does not contain the hydrophobic silicone component.
Dressing Assemblies For Wound Treatment Using Reduced Pressure
A dressing assembly for use with a reduced pressure treatment system, the dressing assembly develops a directed force under reduced pressure. The directed force may be a radial force or a closing force. The dressing assembly includes a shaped dressing bolster having a shaped extremity that is operable to evenly deliver the radial force and to distribute reduced pressure. Numerous shapes may be used for the shaped extremity. The dressing assembly may further include an over-drape to assist in creating a seal over the shaped dressing bolster and against a portion of a patient's epidermis.
ABSORBENT, BREATHABLE AND PATHOGEN BLOCKING/KILLING WOUND CARE DRESSING AND FABRICATION THEREOF
This invention relates to a multi-layer wound site dressing specifically designed to treat chronic wounds and simultaneously block external pathogens from infecting the wound site from the environment. The said wound dressing comprises five layers; each layer performs a specific functionality in healing and protecting the wound site. The said layers of wound care dressing comprise (i) a permeable non-adherent woven or non-woven membrane in contact with wound site, (ii) a nanofibrous composite layer made of superabsorbent, activated carbon and a polymer (iii) a hydrophobic insulating membrane which is permeable to air with an adhesive edge, (iv) a nanofibrous membrane made of polymer and activated carbon hosting functional germicidal ions, and (v) an air permeable non-woven membrane with adhesive edge. The said layers are compounded by pressing and coating to make a comprehensive multi-layer wound care dressing product.
