Wound care article for extraction and control of wound fluids
The subject of the invention is a wound care article for extraction and control of wound fluids, comprising at least one first fluid-absorbing structure (1; 10; 36), which is surrounded by a liquid-permeable, first enclosure (2), and a liquid-permeable, second enclosure (3) comprising two enclosing surfaces (13.1, 13.2). The wound care article is thus characterized in that the first enclosure (2) is covered or supported on at least one of its flat sides (4.1, 4.2) by at least one fluid-absorbing material layer (6.1, 6.2; 6.3), which is arranged (FIG. 1a) between the first enclosure (2) and one of the enclosing surfaces (13.1, 13.2) of the second enclosure (3).
Reduced-pressure, compression systems and apparatuses for use on a curved body part
A system for providing a force to a desired area on a curved body part of a person includes a dressing assembly shaped and configured to be placed on the desired area of the person, a releaseable circumferential member surrounding the curved body part that holds the dressing assembly against the desired area, a sealing subsystem for providing a fluid seal over the dressing assembly and the person's skin, and a reduced-pressure subsystem for providing a reduced pressure to the dressing assembly. When reduced pressure is supplied, the system generates the force against the desired area on the curved body part.
Reduced-pressure, abdominal treatment systems and methods
A method of manufacturing a reduced-pressure abdominal treatment system for treating an open abdominal cavity of a patient is provided. A reduced-pressure abdominal treatment system has an open-cavity treatment device for providing reduced-pressure treatment to a patient's abdominal cavity; a deep-tissue closure device for applying a closing force on a deep-tissue wound on a patient's fascia; a surface-wound closure subsystem for providing a closing force on a surface wound on the patient's epidermis. The method of manufacturing may also include the step of providing a reduced-pressure supply subsystem.
Reduced-Pressure, Linear-Wound Treatment Systems
A system for treating a linear wound on a patient has a closing dressing bolster for placing on the patient's epidermis over the linear wound, a sealing subsystem for providing a seal over the closing dressing bolster and the patient, and a reduced-pressure subsystem for delivering reduced pressure to the sealing subsystem. The sealing subsystem and reduced pressure subsystem are operable to deliver reduced pressure to the closing dressing bolster. The closing dressing bolster is operable under reduced pressure to develop a inward closing. The closing dressing bolster may include one or more closing members on each side of a center wound area to create the inward closing when under reduced pressure. A compressive force may also be developed. Other systems and methods are presented.
Multi-function emergency bandage
A unique multi-functional emergency bandage stops bleeding by: (1) optimizing mechanical properties and preventing ischemia and/or necrosis while applying enough pressure to help stop bleeding, and (2) incorporating inorganic anti-bleeding nano-structures (embedded within a gauze and/or microbial cellulose) with almost infinite life-time. Additionally, pathogen passage through the bandage is prohibited (via an intermediate filter layer). Together with the overall anti-microbial character of the bandage, the unique multi-functional bandage offers all these vital features within a single design. The unique bandage can be applied by using a single hand and bandaging direction can be changed using a unique binding apparatus. Visual aids, such as printed rectangles, on the final fabric provides the user with an indication of how to control the amount of stretch, as vertical rectangles would turn into horizontal rectangles when stretched too much, whereas rectangles turn to squares around the optimum region of the stress-strain curve.
ADJUSTABLE COMPRESSION BAND, APPARATUS AND GARMENT
Embodiments relate to an adjustable compression band comprising: a band of flexible material configured to extend circumferentially around a body part of a user, at least part of the band being resiliently stretchable in the circumferential direction; a baseline circumference indicator for determining a baseline circumference of the body part; and an adjustment mechanism for adjusting a tension of the band in the circumferential direction to apply pressure to the body part. The adjustment mechanism comprises an inextensible element, which is relatively inextensible in comparison with the resiliently stretchable part of the band, and which comprises a tension indicator for indicating a target tension adjustment setting corresponding to the determined baseline circumference, the target tension adjustment setting corresponding to a tension required for the band to apply a predetermined interface pressure to the body part based on the determined baseline circumference.
Medical device for dressing head wounds
A medical device for dressing head wounds of a patient. The device has a dome-shaped flexible cap with a circumferential pocket around its base and an adjustable strap having two opposite ends, wherein the two opposite ends can be affixed to the flexible cap using an attachment mechanism. The adjustable strap is further adapted to cover the patient's chin, thereby securing the flexible cap over the patient's head. The adjustable strap can further have a chin pocket at a middle portion of the strap such that it overlays the patient's chin. The circumferential pocket and the chin pocket are configured to accommodate at least one wound dressing pad for covering the head wounds, wherein the head wounds are located at least partially in front, back, and/or below the patient's ears and at least partially on the patient's chin.
Apparatus, system, and method for at least one of icing, heating, and compressing a user's body part
A wearable device for at least one of icing, heating and compressing a user's body part is disclosed. The wearable device comprises an inner part and an outer part. The outer part is arranged with the inner part such that the outer part surrounds the inner part. A compartment is defined by the space between the outer part and the inner part and above the first attaching means. A compression force is provided by the second set of elastic properties compressing at least one of the hot element and the cold element against the user's body part thereby eliminating a second attaching means above the first attaching means within the compartment. At least one handle is in attachment with the outer part. The wearable device further comprises at least one band disposed on the outer part between the outer part upper end and outer part lower end.
BAND FOR PREVENTING CONTACT OF INJURY
An injury contact prevention band includes an injury cover portion, a fastening portion, and a hard cover portion. The injury cover portion covers a part of a body including an injury, has flexibility, elasticity and a thickness through which an injury opening hole cuts to expose the injury. The fastening portion fastens the injury cover portion to the body. The hard cover portion covers an outer surface of the injury cover portion, has hardness and a thickness through which an injury opening hole opening cuts. The fastening portion includes first and second fastening members and a connecting member. The first fastening member extends from an end of the injury cover portion. The second fastening member extends from another end of the injury cover portion. The connecting member detachably connects an end of the first fastening member and an end of the second fastening member to each other.
