Reduced-Pressure Surgical Wound Treatment Systems And Methods
A reduced-pressure system for treating tissue, such as damaged subcutaneous tissue, includes a shaped dressing bolster for placing on the patient's epidermis and substantially sized to overlay the damaged subcutaneous tissue. The system further includes a sealing subsystem for providing a fluid seal over the shaped dressing bolster and a portion of the patient's epidermis, and a reduced-pressure subsystem for delivering a reduced pressure to the sealing subsystem. The reduced-pressure system may develop a force, which may include a vertical force that is realized at tissue site deeper than the epidermis or a closing force directed towards the incision. The shaped dressing bolster is shaped to evenly distribute the force. Other methods and systems are included.
Interface Dressing
An interface dressing (1) comprising an elastomeric matrix (5), the elastomeric matrix (5) being provided with a plurality of through-holes (6), each through-hole (6) having a contour (C) around a central axis (A), in which at least some of the plurality of through-holes (6) are arranged so as to form at least one pattern in which each through-hole (6) is adjacent to at least one other through-hole (6), the adjacent through-holes (6) having contours (C), images of which, when moved in translation in a plane perpendicular to the central axes (A) in order to merge images of said central axes (A) by means of said translational movement, do not become superposed.
Dressing with tissue viewing capability
A system for treating a linear wound on a patient that has a closing dressing bolster for placing on the patient's epidermis over the linear wound, a sealing subsystem for providing a seal over the closing dressing bolster and the patient, and a reduced-pressure subsystem for delivering reduced pressure to the sealing subsystem. The sealing subsystem and reduced pressure subsystem are operable to deliver reduced pressure to the closing dressing bolster. The closing dressing bolster is operable under reduced pressure to develop a inward closing. The closing dressing bolster may include one or more closing members on each side of a center wound area to create the inward closing when under reduced pressure. A compressive force may also be developed. Other systems and methods are presented.
TISSUE CARE DEVICES INCLUDING MICROSTRUCTURES
A wound cover device can comprise a backing, a micro-structure device, and one or more of a wound dressing and a skin replacement layer. The backing can be stretchable The micro-structure device can comprise a plurality of fasteners, such as micro-staples, micro-pins, micro-barbs and the like, that can be used to attach the wound cover device to tissue such as skin. The micro-structure device can be stretchable to stretch with the backing. The micro-structure device can be configured such that the fasteners are positioned in a two-dimensional pattern or fill-in an interior portion of the wound dressing or skin replacement layer. The fasteners of the micro-structure device can extend through the wound dressing or skin replacement layer. The micro-structure device can additionally be placed around a perimeter or edge region of the backing.
Bilateral compression device
The present invention provides an improved bilateral compression device for post-operative surgical site, the bilateral compression device including a central cavity presented by an outerwall and a circumscribing sidewall, the central cavity in receipt of a post-operative pillow further comprising an outer membrane separated from an inner membrane for exerting a central compressive force towards the post-operative surgical area which varies from a surrounding compression force.
pH Indicator Dressing for Monitoring of Wound and Infection
Wound dressings, methods for forming the wound dressings, and methods for using the wound dressings are described. Wound dressings include a polymeric composition that includes a biocompatible polymer and a pH indicating agent. The polymeric composition can be at a wound contacting surface of a wound dressing in the form of, e.g., a fiber, a hydrogel, or a microsphere. The color of the polymeric composition as determined by the pH indicating agent can indicate the presence of infection or a chronic wound state. The wound dressings can be used for early detection of healing abnormalities in acute, chronic, or burn wounds.
Negative pressure wound closure devices and methods
Systems, devices, and methods of the present application can accelerate and reduce medical complications associated with healing of amputation wounds. The devices and methods utilize a compression structure and negative pressure to cause the amputation wound to preferentially close from the deepest portion of the wound to the shallowest portion.

Traumatic wound dressing system with conformal cover
A wound dressing system that includes a conformal cover and an infusion pump is provided. The cover includes a fluid port and an oxygen catalyst. The infusion pump is configured to deliver a bioactive liquid to the cover via the fluid port. The liquid includes an oxygen precursor. Upon combination, the oxygen catalyst and precursor react to form oxygen. A method of applying a wound dressing system including a bioactive powder, a bioactive liquid, and a conformal cover to a wound site is also provided. The method includes applying the powder to the wound site; securing the cover around the wound site, where the cover includes an oxygen catalyst and a fluid port; and delivering the bioactive liquid to at least an inner layer of the cover via the fluid port, where the bioactive liquid includes an oxygen precursor.
