WOUND DRESSING CONTROL AND ACTIVATION
Disclosed embodiments relate to a wound dressing which can generate nitric oxide. The wound dressing may include a cover layer, an activator layer such as an acid providing layer and nitric oxide source layer, such as a nitrite providing layer. The activator layer may include acidic groups and may be hydrogel, xerogel, or other suitable material. The nitric oxide source layer may include a nitrite salt. Nitrite ions of the nitric oxide source layer may react with the acidic groups of the activating layer to generate nitric oxide. The activating layer may include a window at the center, and a central absorbent material may be positioned at the window. Various separating layers may also be incorporated into the dressing to control the interaction between activating layer and nitric oxide source layer.
SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING WOUND DRESSING PORT AND ASSOCIATED WOUND DRESSING
A wound dressing for use in a vacuum wound therapy treatment includes a backing layer for positioning over a wound to define a reservoir in which a reduced pressure may be maintained over the wound. A portal member affixed to the backing layer provides a connection to a reduced pressure source through an opening in an ambient surface. A primary port extends between the opening and a primary aperture in a reservoir surface to providing fluid communication between the reservoir and the reduced pressure source. At least one supplemental port establishes fluid communication between the primary port and a supplemental aperture in the reservoir surface that is distinct and substantially spaced from the primary aperture.
BANDAGE, HOT-MELT ADHESIVE FOR PRODUCING A BANDAGE,USE AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A HOT-MELT ADHESIVE
The invention relates to the technical field of cohesive bandages. The invention relates to a bandage comprising a flat web material as a substrate, both main sides of the substrate being coated at least partially with a hot-melt adhesive. The invention also relates to a hot-melt adhesive for producing a bandage, to the use of a hot-melt adhesive for producing bandages, and to a method for producing a bandage. The hot-melt adhesive is based on a first polyolefin having—a proportion of 1-butene-derived monomer units; a proportion of ethylene-derived monomer units; and the hot-melt adhesive further comprises: at least one tackifier consisting of hydrocarbon resin and/or of hydrogenated hydrocarbon resin. The hot-melt adhesive can also contain a second polyolefin, preferably an amorphous polypropylene homo- or copolymer.
PERSONAL CARE SYSTEM WITH MONITOR DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS
Monitor device of a personal care system, devices of a personal care system and related methods are disclosed. The monitor device comprises a processor; a memory connected to the processor; a first interface connected to the processor, the first interface configured for connecting the monitor device to the personal care appliance; and a second interface comprising a transceiver module connected to the processor and configured for connecting the monitor device to the one or more accessory devices of the personal care system, wherein the monitor device is configured to establish a connection between the monitor device and at least one of the one or more accessory devices; determine whether a primary storing criterion based on a quality of the connection is satisfied; and in accordance with a determination that the primary storing criterion is satisfied, store primary monitor data in the memory according to a primary storing scheme.
WOUND DRESSING WITH MULTIPLE ADHESIVE LAYERS
A wound dressing is provided. The wound dressing includes a moisture-transmissible backing layer having a first major surface, a second major surface, and a backing layer perimeter; an absorbent hydrophilic adhesive adhered to at least a portion of the second major surface of the backing layer, the absorbent hydrophilic adhesive comprising an absorbent hydrophilic adhesive perimeter; an antimicrobial agent disposed in the absorbent hydrophilic adhesive; a porous layer having a first side adhered to the absorbent hydrophilic adhesive, a second side, and a porous layer perimeter; and a second hydrophobic adhesive adhered to the second side of the porous layer. The second major surface has a first hydrophobic adhesive disposed thereon proximate the backing layer perimeter. 100% of the absorbent hydrophilic adhesive perimeter is overlapped by the backing layer. At least 50% of the porous layer perimeter is overlapped by the absorbent hydrophilic adhesive.
SKIN-FRIENDLY ABSORBENT STRUCTURE FOR PROVIDING OXYGEN
A skin-friendly absorbent structure providing oxygen, comprising a absorbing layer and skin-friendly and oxygen-providing units, the skin-friendly and oxygen-providing unit being evenly dispersed in partial or entire scope of the absorbing layer wherein the skin-friendly and oxygen-providing unit comprises oxygen providing units and pH regulating units; and the pH of the skin-friendly absorbent structure is between 4 and 7 after absorbing liquids.
PEEL AND PLACE DRESSING FOR NEGATIVE-PRESSURE THERAPY
A dressing for treating a tissue site with negative pressure may comprise a cover having an adhesive, a manifold, a perforated polymer film, and a perforated silicone gel having a treatment aperture. The cover, the manifold, the perforated polymer film, and the perforated silicone gel may be assembled in a stacked relationship with the cover and the perforated silicone gel enclosing the manifold. The perforated polymer film may be at least partially exposed through the treatment aperture, and at least some of the adhesive may be exposed through the perforated silicone around the treatment aperture.
BANDAGE
A bandage for the treatment of animal wounds and related method includes use of a flexible kinesiology tape, a pressure-sensitive adhesive and an absorbent pad disposed on an inner face of the kinesiology tape. The pressure-sensitive adhesive retains the absorbent pad on the tape while a residual portion is free to adhere in use to itself or a surface such as a skin surface surrounding the wound to retain the bandage in position.
Wound dressing
A method and apparatus are disclosed for dressing a wound. The apparatus comprises a sealing layer comprising at least one orifice, an absorbent layer over the sealing layer, absorbing wound exude and a liquid impermeable, gas permeable filter layer over the absorbent layer.
