The invention relates to water-containing hydrogels for dressing wounds, comprising a polyurethane-polyurea copolymer having a polyvalent alcohol, except propylene glycol.

WOUND DRESSING WITH WELDED ELASTIC STRUCTURE
20210177662 · 2021-06-17 ·

A wound dressing includes an inelastic absorbent layer, an elastic film, and a plurality of welds. The inelastic absorbent layer is configured to absorb wound fluid and has a first side and a second, wound-facing side. The elastic film is configured to elastically stretch when a stretching force is applied to the wound dressing and elastically recover when the stretching force is removed. The plurality of welds fix the elastic film to the first side of the inelastic absorbent layer such that the elastic film and the inelastic absorbent layer elastically stretch and elastically recover as a unit.

NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND DRESSING

A dressing for negative pressure wound therapy includes an absorbent layer comprising a gelling absorbent material for absorbing exudate, a peripheral adhesive skin contact layer comprising a hydrocolloid adhesive and defining a window through which the absorbent layer is able to contact a wound, and a cover layer that is water impermeable and air permeable. The cover layer defines an aperture to be used with a pump assembly to provide negative pressure to a wound site.

Method and Apparatus for a Perforable Absorbent Portion Bandage (PAP-B) for Avoidance of Constant Adhesive Removal
20210177664 · 2021-06-17 ·

An apparatus for removing a dressing without removing an adhesive portion comprising: an absorbent central portion; an adhesive frame; the absorbent portion coupled to the adhesive frame by a perforated border; and the perforated border with a tab, whereby a user holds the tab and pulls in any one of a direction to loosen free the absorbent portion from the adhesive frame via the perforated border, thereby freeing the absorbent portion from an applied skin surface without a need for removing the adhesive frame from the applied skin surface for mitigating against a risk of MARSI, tube dislodgement, or any risk associated with constant adhesive tape removal from a skin surface during long-term wound or tube insertion dressing.

Systems, methods, and devices for treating a tissue site on a mammal having hair proximate the tissue site

Systems, methods, and devices are presented for treating a tissue site and managing hair proximate the tissue site. A composition is provided for inhibiting, removing, or weakening hair proximate the tissue site and for providing an improved fluid seal by a flexible film drape over the tissue site. In some example embodiments, a hair-modification agent is disposed at least proximate a peripheral edge of a treatment manifold between a drape and epidermis proximate a tissue site. The hair-modification agent can be configured to flow over imperfections on the epidermis and to form a fluid seal against the epidermis, and can further be configured to at least substantially weaken hair on the epidermis as the hair encounters the hair-modification agent.

IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO APPARATUS NEGATIVE PRESSURE WOUND THERAPY
20210138128 · 2021-05-13 ·

An apparatus (1) for negative pressure wound therapy comprises a source of reduced pressure (10) and first (22a) and second (26a) chambers, the first chamber being in fluid communication with the source of reduced pressure such that a negative pressure may be generated in the first chamber, the negative pressure being prevented from exceeding a predetermined value by way of a pressure release means (30), and the second chamber comprising means (28) for establishing a fluid connection with a wound. A valve (24) between the first and second chambers permits the negative pressure in the second chamber to increase in response to an increase in the negative pressure in the first chamber and prevents the negative pressure in the second chamber from dropping in response to a drop in the negative pressure in the first chamber.

MEDICAL DRESSING

A medical dressing is described for prevention of pressure ulcers. The dressing has a gel pad and an anisotropic layer being stiffer in one layer direction. The dressing reduces the shear and compression forces on the skin and in the underlying the soft tissue layers and prevents the onset of pressure ulcers.

The invention relates to a wound dressing comprising a carrier layer and an absorbent wound contact layer fixed to the carrier layer, which has wound contact surfaces spaced from one another by interstices in which the wound contact layer is not in contact with the wound, the wound contact layer being designed to be absorbent overall and in that the wound contact surfaces are connected to each other by connection regions of the wound contact layer.

WOUND CLEANSING APPARATUS IN-SITU

An apparatus for cleansing wounds, in which wound exudate is removed from a wound bed and selectively cleansed and returned to the wound. The cleansing means removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The associated wound dressing and cleansing means are conformable to the wound, and may have irrigant fluid circulated from a reservoir by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing and a means for fluid cleansing and back to the dressing.
