Adhesive patch

The present invention relates to an adhesive patch. The adhesive patch includes a plurality of reliefs, each relief having a flat top face, and each micro channel groove defined between adjacent reliefs of the plurality of reliefs, wherein the plurality of reliefs and the micro channel groove are respectively formed on and defined the adhesive patch, and wherein a hydrogel layer is disposed on at least a portion of a bottom face of the micro channel groove and is contained in the groove. Therefore, the adhesive patch is well-adhered to a dry or wet adhered face.

A wound dressing is disclosed, the wound dressing comprising a first adhesive layer with a proximal surface configured for attachment of the wound dressing to the skin surface of a user; an absorbent core layer; an electrode assembly comprising a plurality of electrodes arranged on a distal side of the absorbent core layer, the electrode assembly comprising a plurality of sensor points distributed along a distal surface of the absorbent core layer; and a top layer on a distal side of the electrode assembly.

Perforated, layered wound treatment material

Wound treatment materials can have at least two perforated biomatrix layers which are interconnected. Methods for preparing such wound treatment materials include the application of adhesives. Treatment of exuding wounds, and vacuum-assisted wound treatment therapy, can be carried out with the wound treatment materials.

A wound dressing comprising: an air-impermeable backing sheet having an aperture for attachment of a suction element; an air-permeable screen layer on a wound facing side of the backing sheet; and a substantially air-impermeable hydrogel layer extending across a wound facing side of said screen layer and joined in substantially airtight fashion to a periphery of said backing sheet around said screen layer. Also provided is a wound treatment system comprising a wound dressing according to the invention and a source of suction in fluid communication with said aperture.

PROPHYLACTIC DRESSING

A medical dressing is described for prevention of pressure ulcers. The dressing has a gel pad having a low compressive strength; i.e. from 5 kPa to 60 kPa at a strain of 50%, as measured by the compression test described herein. The dressing reduces the shear and compression forces on the skin and in the underlying the soft tissue layers and prevents or mitigates the onset of pressure ulcers.

Controlled strain skin treatment devices and methods

Devices, kits and methods are used for wound healing, including but not limited to the treatment, amelioration, or prevention of scars and/or keloids, and include packaging, manipulation elements, applicator and/or tensioning device that are used to apply and/or maintain a strain in an elastic dressing.

Provided herein are fabric materials and debridement devices comprising gel-forming hydrofibres for disrupting a biofilm, loosening, or sequestering unwanted materials from wounds, and uses thereof. In particular, debridement and detection devices for selective and atraumatic removal of unwanted tissues and for detection of a wound infection are provided.

DRESSINGS AND METHODS FOR TREATING A TISSUE SITE ON A PATIENT

Dressings, systems, and methods for treating a tissue site on a patient involve allowing liquids from the tissue site or a priming fluid to evaporate and exit the dressing through a liquid-impermeable, vapor-permeable membrane. The dressing is able to process more liquids than would otherwise be possible without evaporation and potentially to create reduced pressure. Other dressings, systems, and methods are disclosed.

VACUUM WOUND THERAPY WOUND DRESSING WITH VARIABLE PERFORMANCE ZONES

A dressing for an open wound includes a cover layer dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed. The cover layer permits an evacuation of the space around the wound bed such that a sub-atmospheric pressure may be established to stimulate healing and facilitate the removal of fluid from the wound. Multiple performance zones in the cover layer allow the wound dressing to remain in position through repeated cycles of evacuation without placing undue strain on the wound bed. An outer peripheral zone may include a high peal-strength adhesive while an intermediate zone may include a shear resistant adhesive. A central zone may be devoid of any coating to maximize moisture transmission through cover layer.

LAYERED APERTURED WOUND DRESSING, PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE AND USEFUL ARTICLES THEREOF

This invention relates to a novel wound dressing design. Particularly, this invention relates to a wound dressing which incorporates multiple distinct layers, each providing useful features and together providing a novel method of managing a variety of wound types. Moist healing, exudate management, ease of use and patient comfort are provided. In a preferred embodiment, the new dressing comprises a thin layer of gel continuously coated onto a thin film material which is laminated to an apertured mesh. Preferably, the gel coated thin film material is fenestrated or perforated. This construction improves dressing fixation, provides a semi-occlusive wound environment while simultaneously managing copious amounts of exudate.
