A method and apparatus are disclosed for dressing a wound. The apparatus comprises a sealing layer comprising at least one orifice, an absorbent layer over the sealing layer, absorbing wound exude and a liquid impermeable, gas permeable filter layer over the absorbent layer.

Hydrogel wound dressing for use with suction
09839559 · 2017-12-12 · ·

A wound dressing comprising: an air-impermeable backing sheet having an aperture for attachment of a suction element; an air-permeable screen layer on a wound facing side of the backing sheet; and a substantially air-impermeable hydrogel layer extending across a wound facing side of said screen layer and joined in substantially airtight fashion to a periphery of said backing sheet around said screen layer. Also provided is a wound treatment system comprising a wound dressing according to the invention and a source of suction in fluid communication with said aperture.

Wound dressing and method of treatment

A wound dressing, a method of manufacturing a wound dressing, and a method of treating a patient are disclosed. The wound dressing may include an absorbent layer for absorbing wound exudate; and an obscuring element for at least partially obscuring a view of wound exudate absorbed by the absorbent layer in use.

WOUND AND THERAPY COMPRESS AND DRESSING

A method of providing moisture therapy to a subject by applying a moist therapy compress against a treated body portion. The moist therapy compress includes a fluid-permeable shell, a flexible backing fastened to the shell to define an enclosure, and a hydrophilic zeolite fill granules loosely contained within the enclosure. The therapy compress is exposed to a source of moisture to cause absorption of water into the hydrophilic zeolite, and the moisture is delivered from the hydrophilic zeolite through the fluid permeable shell to the treated body portion.

Laminates and articles comprising a block copolymer coating comprising polyorganosiloxane and polyolefin

Intermediate laminates and articles comprising a low adhesion backsize coating are described. The laminate comprises a substrate having a major surface and opposing surface and a coating comprising a block copolymer disposed on a major surface of the substrate wherein the block copolymer comprises a polyorganosiloxane block and a polyolefin block, the polyolefin block having a melt point of at least 110° C. Also described are medical dressings comprising such laminate.

Wound barrier pad
09775747 · 2017-10-03 ·

A wound barrier pad is provided having a housing with a housing opening. The housing has a truncated conical shape. A base plate with an opening is disposed in the housing, and the housing is filled with a fluid or padding. The wound barrier pad may also be embodied to have a cylindrical shape, a rectangular shape or other shape. The wound barrier pad may be incorporated into a garment. In another embodiment the wound barrier pad includes a ring and an adhesive such that the wound barrier pad may be directly adhered to the patient, thus eliminating the need for the garment. In another embodiment there is a wound barrier device having a pad assembly and an anti-sheer member. The anti-shear member reduces frictional forces on the skin of a patient. In another embodiment a wound barrier assembly is provided for applying a negative pressure to a wound.

Wound Covering Device

A wound covering device for providing non-contact wound protection. The wound covering device comprises a wound cover component shaped as a curved body, wherein the curved body does not come in contact with a wound site. The wound covering device further comprises a flexible base that absorbs any water or moisture that attempts to enter a wound area during a shower or bathing. The wound covering device may further comprise a sealing gasket in addition to the flexible base. Either the flexible base or the gasket are configured to conform to an irregular body surface providing a water-tight seal. At least one self-application securing strap may be used to secure the wound covering device to the body over a wound.

SUPPORT PORTION-BONDED MEDICAL TAPE
20220265479 · 2022-08-25 ·

There is provided a support portion-bonded medical tape that has a high effect of alleviating a persistent skin irritation during an application duration caused by a residual shrink force and aims to be applied on a skin that exhibits an excessive reaction even when a degree of residual shrink force as a cause is an insignificant irritation so as to be described as of a level of magnifying lens or microscope, not as of a level of naked eye.

A support portion-bonded medical tape of the present invention includes an elastic base member portion film-formed of a solution polymer and having an elastic function, an adhesion portion having a function to apply and hold the elastic base member portion on a skin, a release portion having a function to protect the adhesion portion, and a support portion having a function to support the elastic base member portion. The support portion, the elastic base member portion, the adhesion portion, and the release portion are provided in this order from an upper layer. In a manufacturing process, the solution polymer used as a material for the elastic base member portion is applied to an upper layer of the adhesion portion, and the support portion is laminated on an upper layer of the elastic base member portion before or after completion of forming shrinkage. A residual shrink force existing in the support portion-bonded medical tape is reduced by removing the release portion at a time of use.

Self-adhesive member

A self-adhesive member for adhering to and covering a portion of a user's skin is disclosed. The self-adhesive member has a backing layer having a self-adhesive coating. The backing layer has a first and a second portion, where the first portion surrounds the second portion, and where the first portion has a first row of slits extending along an outer edge of the backing layer and being distanced a first distance therefrom and the second portion being either void of slits or being provided with fewer slits per area unit than the first portion.

Conformable drape cover dressing

A conformable wound dressing system that includes a backing and a dressing support layer. The backing has a first major surface, a second major surface opposite the first major surface, a perimeter that includes first and second lateral edges extending from a first end to a second end, and a longitudinal axis extending form the first end to the second end. An adhesive is on the first major surface and a dressing support layer is on the second major surface. The dressing support layer has a first section and second section where the first section is disconnected and spaced apart from the second section to define a gap extending from the first end of the backing to the second end of the backing.
