Methods for liquid chromatography fluidic monitoring
A liquid chromatography monitoring system comprises a computer or electronic controller comprising computer-readable instructions operable to: (a) draw a fluid into a syringe pump; (b) configure a valve so as to fluidically couple the pump to either a fluidic pathway through a fluidic system or to a plug that prevents fluid flow; (c) cause the syringe pump to progressively compress the fluid therein or expel the fluid to the fluidic pathway, while measuring a pressure of the fluid; (d) determine a profile of the variation of the measured pressure; (e) compare the determined profile to an expected profile that depends upon the fluid; and (f) provide a notification of a sub-optimal operating condition or malfunction if the determined profile varies from the expected profile by greater than a predetermined tolerance.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR INDICATING REAGENT STATUS AND TISSUE PROCESSOR
An apparatus and a method for indicating a reagent status in a reagent bottle in a tissue processor and a tissue processor are provided. The apparatus includes a detector, a controller, and an indicator. The detector is configured to detect the reagent status. The controller is configured to generate a control signal based on the reagent status. The indicator is configured to generate a signal for indicating the reagent status based on the control signal. The apparatus may intuitively indicate the reagent status for an operator, such that the operator may replace the reagent timely and accurately, avoiding reagent replacement error.
METHODS AND APPARATUS TO MONITOR LAB EQUIPMENT
An example system to monitor lab equipment includes: lab devices configured to perform sectioning, grinding, mounting, polishing, imaging, and/or hardness testing, of specimens; and an equipment monitoring system configured to: receive the data from the lab devices, the data comprising identifiers of the lab devices, operating statuses of the lab devices, current operating cycle information for the lab devices, error codes, and parameters of the operating cycles performed by the lab devices, wherein the lab devices are configured to transmit the data to the equipment monitoring system via a network; based on the error codes, output operator-readable information associated with the lab devices from which the error codes were received; and in response to at least one of the operating statuses, the current operating cycle information, the error codes, or the parameters satisfying an event definition, output an operator-readable notification identifying an operator action item based on the event definition.
Particle detectors with remote alarm monitoring and control
The invention generally provides devices and methods for particle detection for minimizing human-caused contamination in manufacturing environments requiring low levels of microbes, such as cleanroom environments for electronics manufacturing and aseptic environments for manufacturing pharmaceutical and biological products, such as sterile medicinal products. Methods of the invention may incorporate wirelessly transmitting an alarm signal from a particle detector to a remote device, replicating a graphical user interface of the particle detector on an electronic display of the remote device, and passing one or more user instructions from the remote device to the particle detector via the replicate graphical interface of the remote device.
AUTOMATED SOLUTION DISPENSER
Provided herein are methods and systems of the invention that include the use of an automated solution dispenser to form a solution according to at least one target characteristic. A controller may be operatively connected to the automated solution dispenser, wherein the controller is programmed to direct mixing of one or more solids and one or more liquids to produce the solution. At least a portion of the solution can be dispensed into one or more containers.
Automated Analyzer and Automated Analysis Method
An automated analyzer includes two or more types of photometers to obtain suitable output of the measurement results of the plurality of photometers and suitable data alarm output even if there is an abnormality, or the like, at the time of measurement. The automated analyzer includes, for example, two types of photometers having different quantitative ranges and an analysis control unit for controlling analysis that includes measurement of a given sample using the two types of photometers. If two types of data alarms corresponding to abnormalities, or the like, during measurement have been added to the two types of measurement results from the two types of photometers, the analysis control unit selects measurement result and data alarm output corresponding to the combination of the two types of data alarms and outputs the same to a user as analysis results.
Biological sample analyzing system
A data storage section stores LC/MS analysis data for a large number of culture-medium samples acquired with an LC-MS. Based on those data, a quantitative analyzer calculates concentration values of a large number of compounds in each sample and stores the result in an analysis result storage section. A result display processor retrieves analysis results with the same culture name and different sampling date from the analysis result storage section, creates a table in which concentration values are arranged for each compound and for each sampling date, as well as a graph showing a temporal change in the concentration value of one compound, and displays the table and graph on the same window on a display unit. An operator using an operation unit selects a compound on the displayed table. The result display processor creates a graph for the selected compound and renews the graph on the display.
A METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING MICROBIAL CONTAMINANTS IN AN INDUSTRIAL PROCESS
An exemplary embodiment of an apparatus for detecting microbiological activity in an industrial process may include a plurality of satellite units, a processing unit, and a main analysis unit. Each satellite unit may be configured to sample a liquid from the industrial process at a plurality of respective locations, periodically analyse a sample, carry out an impedance analysis to count and measure the size of particles passing through an orifice, and generate sample results data corresponding to the number and size of particles in each sample. The processing unit may be configured to compare the sample results data to a predetermined criterion and to generate an alert signal if the particle data is outside of the predetermined criterion. The main analysis unit may be configured to carry out a combined impedance and electromagnetic emission analysis of a sample of liquid from the industrial process following generation of the alert signal.
Diagnostic test reader system
A diagnostic test reader system including two or more reader modules and at least one mother module is provided. Each of the reader modules includes a unique code and is configured for reading a specific test cartridge type. Each of the reader modules is configured to be in data communication with the mother module for receiving instructions from the mother module and for transmitting read and/or derived data to the mother module. The mother module is configured for communicating individually with each of the reader modules.
