The present disclosure relates to automated medical diagnostic systems and methods. One example embodiment includes a system. The system includes a test cartridge, a test strip usable to indicate the presence of one or more patient conditions, and a kiosk configured to receive and process the test cartridge and the test strip. The kiosk includes a vortex mixer; a conveyor belt; a robotic pipette module; an imaging system; a display; and a processor communicative coupled to the vortex mixer, the conveyor belt, the robotic pipette module, the imaging system, and the display. The processor is configured to execute instructions stored within a memory to operate the vortex mixer, the conveyor belt, the robotic pipette module, the imagine system, and the display; to receive the image of the test strip from the imaging system; and to analyze the image to determine whether one or more patient conditions is present.

The analyzer has movable and stationary automated components, wherein at least two automated components are designed so as to be movable in the x-direction independently of one another along or parallel to the line of movement defined by the linear cuvette array and each have access to different cuvettes or groups of cuvettes in a freely selectable sequence.

Apparatuses and methods for washing a plurality of fluid samples are disclosed herein. In an embodiment, a system for washing a plurality of fluid samples respectively located within a plurality of cuvettes includes a rotor configured to rotate the plurality of cuvettes about an axis, a traveler mechanism located beneath the rotor, the traveler mechanism configured to move a plurality of magnets parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor to position the plurality of magnets so that each cuvette of the plurality of cuvettes is located adjacent to at least one magnet of the plurality of magnets, and a wash system located above the rotor, the wash system configured to at least one of inject fluid into or aspirate fluid from the plurality of the cuvettes, while the plurality of magnets suspend magnetic particles located within each of the plurality of cuvettes.

The present invention provides an automatic analysis device for analyzing a sample using light, in which the automatic analysis device is characterized in that: a washing mechanism comprises a washing liquid supply nozzle that supplies washing liquid to a reactor vessel after analysis, a washing liquid suction nozzle that suctions the supplied washing liquid, a washing tip provided to the bottom end of the washing liquid suction nozzle, and a rough suction nozzle that suctions, in advance, a liquid within the reactor vessel before suctioning with the washing tip; and after the rough suction, liquid is caused to remain so that the bottom surface of the reactor vessel is not exposed.
