Automated analyzer and liquid reservoir

Provided are an automated analyzer for analyzing a substance contained in an unknown sample and a liquid reservoir, the analyzer and the reservoir being capable of saving users' operation without remarkably increasing the number of components. A flow path outlet of an overflow portion of the liquid reservoirs projects closer to the inner circumferential side of a drain flow path than to an inner circumferential surface side of an outer wall of the drain flow path serving as a destination to which liquid overflows. In addition, the flow path outlet projects so as to come into contact with an outer wall of the inner pipe. The flow path outlet of the overflow portion projects into the drain flow path so as to be located below an upper end of the outer wall of the drain flow path.

A multiple sample automatic dosing and cleaning system comprising a first receiving carousel for sequentially receiving multiple samples in sample cups for automatic sequential filling a dosing head. The receiving carousel is rotated around its axis and synchronized with the dosing device. Each destination cup is weighed empty on a balance scale in the destination carousel having openings for multiple cups. The destination carousel has means for rotation movement and vertical and horizontal movement. The destination carousels empty and tared cups placed on the balance scale receive the samples and flux for automatic dosing. A cleaning vacuum device is used to clean the dosing head every time each sample is dosed for integrity sample dosing. The carousels are serviced by gantry support which provides linear and vertical movement of the dosing device.

A cleaning water flow velocity during nozzle cleaning is momentarily changed by using a pressure changing mechanism, for example, a syringe. That is, after the start of cleaning, a solenoid valve is opened, and an aspirating operation of the syringe is momentarily performed by a fixed amount in a state where a flow of cleaning water in a nozzle is developed, whereby a nozzle flow velocity is momentarily decelerated. Immediately thereafter, the syringe is pushed back to a home position again, and the flow velocity in the nozzle is accelerated again. A cleaning effect can be improved by performing transition of velocity distribution to various states. Flow velocity control by the pressure changing mechanism can be realized without inhibiting a dispensing cycle, and the cleaning effect of the nozzle can be improved without changing the pressure of a liquid feeding pump or extending the cleaning time.
