BIOCHEMICAL CARTRIDGE AND BIOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS DEVICE
To enable taking in a biological sample at a position a predetermined distance away from an EWOD electrode, a biochemical cartridge, including a droplet passage on which a plurality of EWOD electrodes is arranged along a direction in which a sample droplet that is a droplet including a biological sample is transported, the plurality of EWOD electrodes configured to transport the sample droplet, and a sample take-in unit having a predetermined distance from an EWOD electrode at a tail end of the droplet passage, the sample take-in unit being provided at a position at which the biological sample in the sample droplet is taken in. When the biological sample is taken in, the sample take-in unit is located at a position lower than the droplet passage having the EWOD electrode at the tail end, and an area between the droplet passage and the sample take-in unit is smoothly connected.
Dispenser stages
In one example, dispenser stages described herein may include a dispenser platform comprising: a stage coupled to a rail system to move the stage in a first plane and a second plane, an alignment feature coupled to the stage to align a substrate nest coupled to the stage with a dispenser positioned above the stage, and a releasable fastener to couple the substrate nest to the stage.
VACUUM MANIFOLD FOR FILTRATION MICROSCOPY
A vacuum manifold for filtration microscopy includes a manifold top having multiple openings, and a capture membrane positioned above and spaced apart from the manifold top, where the capture membrane is configured to deflect into contact with a surface of the manifold top when a negative pressure is applied to the multiple openings. A method for filtration microscopy includes the steps of providing a vacuum manifold including a manifold top having a plurality of openings, and a capture membrane positioned above and spaced apart from the manifold top; applying sample drops to sample spots on the membrane, the sample spots positioned above the plurality of openings; applying a negative pressure to the openings such that the capture membrane contacts a surface of the manifold top; and optically imaging particulates on the capture membrane.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RETRIEVING AND ANALYZING PARTICLES
A system and method for isolating and analyzing single cells, including: a substrate having a broad surface; a set of wells defined at the broad surface of the substrate, and a set of channels, defined by the wall, that fluidly couple each well to at least one adjacent well in the set of wells; and fluid delivery module defining an inlet and comprising a plate, removably coupled to the substrate, the plate defining a recessed region fluidly connected to the inlet and facing the broad surface of the substrate, the fluid delivery module comprising a cell capture mode.
APPARATUS FOR QUANTITATIVELY TREATING LIQUID
The present application relates to the field of liquid treatment, and discloses a solution for quantitatively treating a liquid. The solution includes: a container used for containing a liquid to be extracted or discharged; and a micro tubule including: a flow passage extending outwards from the interior of the container to a bifurcation point; a first by-pass communicating with the flow passage and extending from the bifurcation point to a first port; and a second by-pass communicating with the flow passage and extending from the bifurcation point to a second port. A peristaltic pump is disposed in series in at least one of the flow passage, the first by-pass and the second by-pass, and a cut-off valve or another peristaltic pump is disposed in series in at least another of the flow passage, the first by-pass and the second by-pass, so that a predetermined volume of liquid between the bifurcation point and the first port or the second port can be intercepted.
System and method for depositing antisera in immunofixation electrophoresis
An immunofixation electrophoresis applicator system and method deposits antisera in spaced apart locations on a substrate where the antisera is deposited as an elongated bead in a first direction and retained against migration in a direction transverse to said first direction at least by surface tension.

Sample consumable and loader
A sample consumable that carries a microvolume of sample to a sample loader. The consumable is precisely aligned utilizing a double-alignment feature to the loader. The loader is based on a crank-slider geometry and allows for simple, one-handed operation for the user. Overall, the consumable and sample loader increase reproducibility of in-line sample loading and offers ease-of-use.
PIPETTE ACCESSORY FOR RELIABLE LIQUID HANDLING
An apparatus for limiting pipette motion, the apparatus comprising: (1) a stand for controlling spatial positions; (2) a mechanism for temporally coupling the pipette with the stand; the orientation or the movement of the pipette being restricted by the stand as predetermined for (a) limiting the insertion depth of the pipette tips into sample containers, (b) restricting unwanted movements or rotations of the pipette, or (c) maintaining the desired alignments of the pipette tips with the sample containers. Methods of limiting pipette motion or rotation are also provided.
