Transposable adhesives which exhibit a change in adhesive properties upon exposure to particular stimuli or environmental factors are described. The adhesives include one or more olefin block copolymers in combination with tackifiers and process oils. The transposable adhesives may additionally include one or more polyolefin elastomers.

BUPRENORPHINE TRANSDERMAL DELIVERY SYSTEM

A transdermal therapeutic system for the transdermal administration of buprenorphine comprising a buprenorphine-containing self-adhesive layer structure having (A) a buprenorphine-impermeable backing layer, and (B) a buprenorphine-containing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the backing layer. The buprenorphine-containing adhesive layer comprises (a) at least one polymer-based pressure-sensitive adhesive, (b) an analgesically effective amount of buprenorphine base or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, (c) a viscosity-increasing substance in an amount of about 0.1% to about 8% of the buprenorphine-containing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and (d) a carboxylic acid selected from oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, levulinic acid and mixtures thereof. The amount of the carboxylic acid is sufficient so that the analgesically effective amount of buprenorphine is solubilized in the carboxylic acid to form a mixture including the viscosity-increasing substance. This mixture forms dispersed deposits in the pressure-sensitive adhesive. The buprenorphine-containing pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is the skin contact layer.

CONTROLLED STRAIN SKIN TREATMENT DEVICES AND METHODS

Devices, kits and methods described herein may be for wound healing, including but not limited to the treatment, amelioration, or prevention of scars and/or keloids. The packaging, manipulation elements, applicator and/or tensioning device maybe used to apply and/or maintain a strain in an elastic dressing.

Dressing and Dressing Assembly for Preventing Pressure Ulcers

A dressing for guarding against the development of pressure ulcers has a recipient side and an environmental side. The dressing comprises a moisture barrier layer whose components include a sacral member, a left gluteal member and a right gluteal member. Each gluteal member has a base and an extension which extends longitudinally inferiorly further than the inferior edge of the sacral member by a dimension which is approximately no less than the longitudinal length of the sacral member. The dressing also includes a connective element on the recipient side of the dressing. The connective element is arranged to provide a zone of occlusion. In some embodiments the dressing includes electrodes and is a component of a dressing assembly which includes an exciter for stimulating gluteal muscles.

IMPROVED PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVES USED FOR MEDICAL APPLICATIONS

Adhesive compositions are described which include one or more gelling agents in combination with one or more non-gelling disintegrants. The adhesive compositions exhibit relatively high fluid handling capacities and static absorption properties, thus enabling their use in a wide range of medical applications. Various adhesive articles such as dressings and related methods of use are also described which utilize the adhesive compositions. In preferred embodiments the adhesive component is an acrylic adhesive, the gelling agent is selected from the group consisting of (i) carboxymethyl cellulose, (ii) superabsorbent polymer, and (iii) combinations of (i) and (ii), and the non-gelling disintegrant is selected from the group consisting of (i) fully pregelatinized potato starch, (ii) microcrystalline celluloseand (iii) combinations of any of (i)-(ii).

Adhesive tape made of silicone intended for medical applications

An adhesive tape (1) made of silicone is intended for medical applications. The tape (1) has a sheet material (12) based on nonwoven fibers, coated on an internal face (12a) intended to be in contact with the skin, with a barrier membrane (14) which adheres to the sheet material, based on crosslinked silicone polymer, and with a layer (16) of atraumatic and biocompatible silicone adhesive gel, and on an external face (12b), with a layer (18) of a nonstick and waterproof polymer based on a fluorosilicone or fluorocarbon polymer.

Wound care bandage and method of wound healing

A wound healing system and a wound care bandage are provided. The wound care bandage has an electronics housing that houses a battery and wound care microcontroller. A bandage layer is provided and it defines a pad recess in which a pad is disposed. The pad has channels to allow for airflow. The wound care bandage at least first and second snap button electrodes, but there may be more snap button electrodes in other preferred embodiments. There are also electrically conductive adhesive strips with one being in contact with each of the first and second snap button electrodes. When current is controllably supplied to the first and second snap button electrodes a plurality of electric current flow paths are generated and that extend across the wound and stimulate the healing of the wound. The wound care bandage can be monitored and controlled wirelessly.

Adhesive Film Bandage for Medical Compression

The present invention relates to a transparent elastic compression bandage film composite for the treatment of venous diseases and tissue lesions, comprising a transparent film layer of 5-50 microns thickness, a medical adhesive coated on at least a portion of one surface of the film layer, which is preferably hypoallergenic, a first release liner for longitudinal detachment covering the adhesive film surface and, optionally, a second release liner for longitudinal detachment to serve as a carrier, wherein the effects of elasticity and of strong adhesion add to a compression quality superior to textile European standard compression media, in the main affecting superficial varicosities and long-term wearing.

The present invention is directed towards jewelry products, connected with reusable stickiness (adhesive) to grab and release the body and different surfaces. The present invention also includes different purposes for the gecko jewelry such as a gecko diamond, wristwatch, phones, bandages, electrodes etc. While the gecko's glue holds the on the body strongly in one direction, one can easily pull the product out to the other direction. Due to the gecko jewelry, the shape of the product can be changed and not necessarily symmetric. The gecko jewelry can come as a complete new product or the gecko adhesive can be as an add-on a part for an existing jewelry. The present invention also include a jewelry that has reusable adhesive made out of carbon nanotubes mimicking a gecko foot. Realizing a jewelry grabbing on different parts of the body surface (or any other surfaces) by a special adhesive or any other glue product which doesn't leave residue, reusable, easy to use and doesn't wear off even in dusty or damp conditions. The present invention is directed to all jewelries for fashion or for medical use.
