Low-profile reduced pressure treatment system
A low-profile reduced pressure treatment apparatus and system are provided. The apparatus includes a moldable conduit holder, a conduit through the conduit holder, and a flexible base. The conduit holder has first and second bulkhead surfaces, a convex top surface, and a bottom surface adapted to conform to a tissue contact region adjacent to a tissue site. An end of the conduit is substantially flush with the first bulkhead surface and a longitudinal axis of the conduit is substantially perpendicular to the first and second bulkhead surfaces. The base is connected on a first side to the bottom surface of the conduit holder, and extends beyond the first bulkhead surface to form an overlay zone adjacent the first bulkhead surface. An adhesive is disposed on a second side of the flexible base to secure the flexible base to the tissue contact region.
Assembly features and methods for a peel-and-place dressing for use with negative-pressure treatment
Dressings for tissue treatment with negative pressure and methods of assembling the dressings for tissue treatment with negative pressure are disclosed. A method of assembling a dressing, which may comprise at least three layers assembled in a stacked relationship, may comprise providing an assembly station having at least one retaining pin, placing a first layer on the assembly station, placing a second layer on the assembly station, and bonding the second layer to the first layer. The first layer may comprise a plurality of apertures, at least some of which may be engaged by the retaining pins, and the second layer may comprise fluid restrictions and alignment areas for engaging with the retaining pins so that the fluid restrictions may be aligned with the apertures of the third layer.
WOUND DRESSING
The present invention relates to wound dressings for use in cases of a patient suffering a penetrating chest trauma. The wound dressing comprises a base layer having a lower surface facing the wound and an upper surface facing away from the wound, and an aperture therethrough for locating over the wound, and a top layer extending over the aperture and at least a part of the upper surface. The base layer is connected to the top layer such that the wound dressing can transition from an open configuration in which the aperture and an area external to the wound dressing are in fluid communication via at least one opening at a perimeter between the base layer and the top layer, to a closed configuration in which the top layer forms a seal over the aperture.
Flexible hydrogel wound dressings
Disclosed herein is a wound dressing and composition comprising a backing layer having disposed thereon a discontinuous layer of hydrogel, wherein the discontinuous layer of hydrogel is in the form of discrete islands of hydrogel on the backing layer. Methods of treating a wound using the dressing or the composition are also disclosed. Methods of forming the dressing or the composition are also disclosed.
ELASTICALLY DEFORMABLE WOUND DRESSINGS
Described herein are dressings comprising a composite island comprising a polyurethane or foam layer coupled to an absorbent layer comprising non-woven gelling fibers. Also described herein are dressings comprising an absorbent layer comprising carboxymethyl cellulose fibers and a backing layer coupled to the absorbent layer. In the respective dressings, the absorbent layer is not elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions, whereas the polyurethane or foam layer and the backing layer are substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. The coupling of the absorbent layer to the polyurethane/foam layer or backing layer renders the coupled structure or the entire dressing substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. Methods of eliminating, minimizing, or reducing edema are also described herein.
Vented emergency wound dressings
A wound dressing provides a tenacious occlusive seal against the skin of a wearer, even in the presence of excessive blood or heavy perspiration. The preferred embodiment combines an adhesive backing layer with a hydrogel island providing superior hydrophilic gel adhesion. The product performs under extreme temperatures (i.e., 32-140 F.), and may be used to hold other dressings in place. The preferred embodiments are entirely translucent, and include a large pull-tab for easy removal. Two dressings may be packaged in a pliable re-sealable protective pouch, thereby forming a portable kit. Different vented embodiments are disclosed. A preferred structure includes a cover layer peripherally bonded to backing and hydrogel layers having a central aperture therethrough. The cover layer has one or more vent holes, and pressure is released through the central aperture and out the vent hole(s).
WATERPROOF AND TRANSPARENT WOUND BARRIER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A wound barrier provides an adhesive sealed barrier surrounding a wound site that is oxygen permeable but which is substantially moisture vapor impermeable. The barrier includes a compound material that is a thin and compliant oxygen permeable backing material with pressure sensitive adhesive deposited on one surface. An adhesive deadening layer is island deposited onto the adhesive to form a non-adhesive zone and an adhesive zone at the periphery of the wound barrier. A liner layer is then placed over the adhesive side of the wound barrier to cover the adhesive until the barrier is to be applied to cover and seal off a wound site. The compound material can include a casting sheet to provide support while the barrier is applied and then removed to improve the compliant nature of the barrier.
Nerve Stimulation System
A treatment system including one or more of a wound dressing having one or more of a substrate element, a dressing member disposed on the substrate element, an adhesive element disposed on the substrate element, and a tether connecting the wound dressing to a treatment device.
Treatment system
A treatment system including one or more of a wound dressing having one or more of a substrate element, a dressing member disposed on the substrate element, an adhesive element disposed on the substrate element, and a tether connecting the wound dressing to a treatment device.
RELEASE PAPERS FOR WOUND TREAMENT DEVICES
The invention is related to wound treatment devices that comprise a three-part release liner assembly that permits accurate placement of the wound treatment device.
