ATRAUMATIC ABSORBENT WOUND DRESSING
The present invention concerns a wound dressing with improved adhesive and atraumatic properties. The wound dressing comprises a backing layer, an absorbent wound pad and a perforated atraumatic wound contact layer. The absorbent wound pad comprises super absorbent fibers and a net layer. The atraumatic wound contact layer comprises a polyurethane layer, an adhesive acrylic layer and an adhesive silicone layer as skin adherent. The backing layer and the perforated atraumatic wound contact layer are bonded together at the edge region.
WATERPROOF AND TRANSPARENT WOUND BARRIER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME
A wound barrier provides an adhesive sealed barrier surrounding a wound site that is oxygen permeable but which is substantially moisture vapor impermeable. The barrier includes a compound material that is a thin and compliant oxygen permeable backing material with pressure sensitive adhesive deposited on one surface. An adhesive deadening layer is island deposited onto the adhesive to form a non-adhesive zone and an adhesive zone at the periphery of the wound barrier. A liner layer is then placed over the adhesive side of the wound barrier to cover the adhesive until the barrier is to be applied to cover and seal off a wound site. The compound material can include a casting sheet to provide support while the barrier is applied and then removed to improve the compliant nature of the barrier.
Chest Seal
A chest seal is provided, including a release layer; an adhesive layer, a center of the adhesive layer being opened with an exhaust through hole; and a backing layer. The adhesive layer is arranged between the release layer and the backing layer; the backing layer includes a lower backing layer and a soft backing layer; the lower backing layer and the soft backing layer are staggered and form an overlapping area; the overlapping area includes a connection area and a non-connection area; and the lower backing layer is arranged above the adhesive layer and does not completely block the exhaust through hole. The chest seal can prevent external air from entering the chest cavity and discharge the effusion in the chest cavity when a penetrating wound is formed in the chest cavity through the structural design between the exhaust through hole, the lower backing layer, and the soft backing layer.
Wound dressing with adhesive margin
A wound dressing comprising: a backing sheet; a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive on the backing sheet; an island of absorbent material having smaller area than the backing sheet and applied onto a central region of the backing sheet so as to leave a margin of adhesive-coated backing sheet around the absorbent material, and an apertured wound facing layer applied over the absorbent material and adhered to the backing sheet around said island by said pressure-sensitive adhesive, wherein the apertured wound facing layer comprises an apertured substrate having a coating of a silicone gel on the wound facing surface thereof, the open area of the apertured wound facing layer is from about 5% to about 75%, and the apertured wound facing layer comprises apertures having an open area of from about 2 mm2 to about 100 mm.sup.2.
Layered composite for scar treatment and prevention
A layered composite for scar treatment and prevention, the layered composite including a backing section; a drug matrix section; and a skin-interfacing section. The drug matrix section may be disposed between the back section and the skin-interfacing section. The drug matrix section may include pirfenidone in an amount of from about 1 to about 20 mg/cm.sup.2. The layered composite may provide greater than about 75% release of the pirfenidone over a period of about 48 to 72 hours. A method for scar treatment and prevention that includes applying a layered composite as described to a burn wound.
TWO-PART WOUND DRESSING
The subject invention pertains to a sterile two-part wound dressing for surgical drainage tube and chest thoracostomy tubes that is designed to create a seal around the chest tube during tube removal decreasing the risk of air leak and post-pull iatrogenic pneumothorax, to absorb exudate from the wound, and to provide a water-resistant covering to limit contamination of the wound during healing.
Moisture and electromagnetic radiation switchable adhesive and apparatuses, systems, and methods therefore
This disclosure describes devices, systems, and methods related to dual switchable adhesives, the manufacture thereof, and the use thereof. An exemplary dual switchable adhesive includes one or more polymers, photo initiators configured to cause the one or more polymers to cross-link responsive to receiving light, and polymerization initiators configured to cause the one or more polymers to cross-link responsive to receiving moisture.
