METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLING DUAL MATERIAL TISSUE INTERFACE FOR NEGATIVE-PRESSURE THERAPY
A dressing for treating tissue with negative pressure is provided herein comprising a composite of dressing layers, including a release film, a perforated coated polymer film, a manifold, and an adhesive cover. Additionally, a method of manufacturing the dressing may comprise applying a cross-linkable polymer to a polymer film, curing the cross-linkable polymer to a gel layer to form a coated polymer film, and perforating the coated polymer film to form fluid restrictions, such as slits and/or slots, though the coated polymer film.
Item that adheres to the skin
Items that adhere to the skin for medical or paramedical use and methods of making and using the same are described.
TRANSDERMAL THERAPEUTIC SYSTEM CONTAINING RIVASTIGMINE
The present invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic system for the transdermal administration of rivastigmine comprising a rivastigmine-containing layer structure, said rivastigmine-containing layer structure comprising: A) a backing layer; B) a rivastigmine-containing layer comprising at least one acrylic polymer; and C) a skin contact layer comprising at least one styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer and at least one tackifier.
Apparatus and process for providing a coiled collagen carrier
The present invention relates inter alia to an apparatus for providing a coiled collagen carrier. An apparatus according to the invention preferably comprises a device for applying moisture to a collagen carrier prior to coiling of the collagen carrier and a coiling device. The coiling device preferably comprises rotatable gripping means for gripping the collagen carrier along an edge and coiling the collagen carrier, and a support device supporting the collagen carrier while being coiled. In another aspect, the invention relates to a production facility wherein an apparatus according to invention is arranged.
ACTIVE INGREDIENT WOUNDCARE AND SCAR MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS, PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE AND USEFUL ARTICLES THEREOF
This invention relates to a novel method of reducing dermal scars resulting from various types of dermal injuries. Particularly, this invention relates to wound dressings and to scar management products each of which incorporate an active pharmaceutical ingredient to reduce and/or prevent dermal scarring.
MEDICAL TAPE
In order to provide an elastic medical tape having an especially excellent elastic function and a high effect of alleviating persistent skin irritation during application duration caused by an application-duration shrink force, and applicable to skin that hypersensitively reacts to even insignificant irritation, disclosed is a medical tape for alleviating persistent skin irritation during application duration caused by an application-duration shrink force of an elastic base member of an elastic medical tape, the medical tape including: an elastic base member portion (1) having an elastic function; an adhesive portion (2) having a function of applying and holding the elastic base member portion (1) to skin; and an anti-expansion portion (3) having a function of preventing expansion of the elastic base member portion, the anti-expansion portion (3) overlying the elastic base member portion (1), wherein, after in a manufacturing process, the elastic base member portion (1) and the anti-expansion portion (3) are laminated while the elastic base member portion is in a slacked state or in a not-pulled state, and in the manufacturing process, the elastic base member portion (1) and the anti-expansion portion (3) are laminated while a residual shrink force is not generated in the elastic base member portion (1) in order to reduce the residual shrink force of the elastic base member portion (1), the adhesive portion (2) is applied to skin while preventing expansion of the medical tape, and the anti-expansion portion (3) is then removed.
ELASTICALLY DEFORMABLE WOUND DRESSINGS
Described herein are dressings comprising a composite island comprising a polyurethane or foam layer coupled to an absorbent layer comprising non-woven gelling fibers. Also described herein are dressings comprising an absorbent layer comprising carboxymethyl cellulose fibers and a backing layer coupled to the absorbent layer. In the respective dressings, the absorbent layer is not elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions, whereas the polyurethane or foam layer and the backing layer are substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. The coupling of the absorbent layer to the polyurethane/foam layer or backing layer renders the coupled structure or the entire dressing substantially elastically deformable under tissue treatment conditions. Methods of eliminating, minimizing, or reducing edema are also described herein.
Hybrid drape having a gel-coated perforated mesh
A system for treating a tissue site with negative-pressure is described. The system includes a manifold configured to be positioned adjacent to the tissue site and a drape configured to be positioned over the tissue site and the manifold to form a sealed space. The system also includes a negative-pressure source configured to provide negative-pressure to the sealed space. The drape includes a film layer, a layer of a bonding adhesive coupled to the film layer, and a mesh coupled to the layer of the bonding adhesive. The mesh includes a coating of a sealing adhesive and one or more bonding apertures. Methods of manufacturing the drape are also described.

PORTABLE TRANSDERMAL ADMINISTRATION PATCH APPARATUS AND PREPARATION METHOD THEREOF
A portable transdermal administration patch apparatus comprises a communication control device and a pharmaceutical device which is fixed to and arranged at a lower end of the communication control device and electrically connected to the communication control device. The communication control device is formed of a micro-battery, a wireless control device and a micro-controller which are electrically connected. The preparation of the patch apparatus is achieved by: the preparation of medicinal patches and non-medicinal patches, the mounting of electrodes, interfacing with a micro-controller, and the communication control system, and starting administration. The transdermal apparatus is wearable and can be remotely controlled, and is convenient for administration, in particular, for the situations of daily administration for elderly patients with chronic illness and when there are a larger number of admitted inpatients, where a nurse can pre-set the administration time and dose, thus saving time and efforts of medical staff.
