METHOD AND COMPRESSION GARMENT FOR ESTABLISHING A COMPRESSION TO A HUMAN LIMB OR BODY PART
A method for establishing a compression level to a human limb or body part by a compression garment is shown, the garment consisting of or including a bandage having at least one closing part, which closing part is securable on the garment in a position wherein the bandage is fully or partly wrapped around said limb or body part to establish said pressure level, the method including
a first step of wrapping the bandage around the limb or body part and provisionally securing it in a first position that holds the compression garment on the limb or body part without applying a compression level to said limb or body part;
a second step of applying a tab with an adhesive or attaching mechanism to the garment, the tab abutting the terminal edge of the closing part;
a third step of releasing the closing part from its provisionally secured position and wrapping the bandage part further around the limb or body part, using the length of the tab as a marking for a safe compression level range; and
a fourth step of securing the closing part to the garment at a second position within the safe compression level range.
Orthopedic device having wrap and single strap
The orthopedic device includes an articulating frame including a thigh portion including a curved thigh cuff, a calf portion including a curved calf cuff, and a center hinge connecting the thigh portion and the calf portion. A strap includes a calf end segment securely attachable to the calf portion. A suspension segment is adjacent to the calf end segment. A thigh end segment is securely attachable to the thigh portion. A spiraling segment is adjacent to the thigh end segment. An intermediate segment formed of webbing material is between the suspension segment and the spiraling segment. The clip engages the intermediate segment. The clip is engageable with a clip receptacle positioned on the calf portion. During use, the suspension segment lays across the top part of the calf minimizing migration. The intermediate segment facilitates movement of the strap through the clip adjusting the spiraling segment and the suspension segment.
COMPRESSION GARMENT SYSTEM WITH TIGHTENING APPARATUS
Compression systems and methods for tightening a garment and/or applying a pressure through the garment may include a garment, a lacing system, and a tightening apparatus. The compression system may be used for tightening the garment about a portion of a body and/or applying pressure to a portion of the body by pressure applying regions of the garment. The lacing system may include lacing guide and at least one lace guided by the lacing guide members. The tightening apparatus may be coupled to the at least one lace and may be configured to apply tension on the at least one lace to tighten the garment about the portion of the body.
ITEM OF CLOTHING FOR THE TREATMENT OF SKIN AND SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE DISORDERS AND SPORTS RECOVERY, COMPRISING A TUBULAR BODY
An item of clothing for treating skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders, includes a tubular body with at least one relatively inelastic part having an inner layer defining an inner face of the inelastic part, the inner layer including a plurality of protruding spaced apart elements. A relatively elastic part extends from a first axial end to an opposite axial end of the tubular body and connects a first edge of the inelastic part to a second edge of the inelastic part. The item further includes: a flap which is relatively inelastic and has an inner layer defining an inner face of the flap, the inner layer including a plurality of protruding spaced apart elements, the flap being secured to at least part of the first edge of the inelastic part, and a device for reversibly attaching the flap to at least part of the second edge of the inelastic part.
KNEE SUPPORTER
A knee joint supporter includes a first anchor having a loop face, a main body including second anchor, first supporting and second supporting, connections joining the anchors and connecting the first anchor and main body, a first engaging joined to the second supporting and having a hook face to stick to the loop face, a second engaging joined to the first anchor and having a hook face to stick to the loop face, and a third engaging joined to the first supporting and having a hook face to the loop face. The first anchor fastens around a thigh of a wear. The second anchor extends below popliteal region. The first supporting extends on one side from below part corresponding to a patella, and the second supporting extends on the other side of the part corresponding to the patella and crosses the first supporting below the part corresponding to the patella.
Apparatus for, and method of, reducing knee pain and/or increasing levels of athletic performance
An apparatus for reducing knee pain or increasing athletic performance includes a compressive element, an elastic strap and, optionally, a hard actuator. The compressive element may be a sleeve a compressive wrap or a compressive pair of shorts configured to fit over a thigh of at least one leg. The elastic strap may be configured to fit tightly and circumferentially over and around the compressive element at a location above a knee joint at a mid-portion of the thigh. The hard actuator may be a generally concave-shaped element with a concave side. The elastic strap may be configured to fit over the hard actuator and to press the concave side of the concave hard actuator against a portion of an anterior side of the mid-portion of the thigh. With this configuration, the apparatus may reduce knee pain or increase athletic performance. Methods for reducing knee pain and increasing athletic performance are also disclosed.
