Sock for preventing ankle injury
The present disclosure relates to a sock for preventing ankle injury of a subject, comprising a sock body which includes a leg section and a foot section, wherein the leg section comprises a fixation band comprising a first zone of high compression, configured to contour the transversal leg subject body, wherein the foot section comprises a second zone of high compression positioned to match the back of the ankle of the subject and configured to minimize subject adduction/abduct ion movements; a third zone of high compression that bounds to the subject leg section and foot section with a X-shape that begins in the fixation band and contours the plant of the foot section and the upper part of the foot section, configured to restrict the movement of subject plantar flexion, namely eversion/inversion movements, wherein the first zone and the second zone of high compression are bound by a vertical band, wherein such vertical band accompanies laterally the peroneal alignment path of the subject ending in the fixation band, wherein the remaining zones are low compression zones.
Adhesive film bandage for medical compression
The present invention relates to a transparent elastic compression bandage film composite for the treatment of venous diseases and tissue lesions, comprising a transparent film layer of 5-50 microns thickness, a medical adhesive coated on at least a portion of one surface of the film layer, which is preferably hypoallergenic, a first release liner for longitudinal detachment covering the adhesive film surface and, optionally, a second release liner for longitudinal detachment to serve as a carrier, wherein the effects of elasticity and of strong adhesion add to a compression quality superior to textile European standard compression media, in the main affecting superficial varicosities and long-term wearing.
Flexible Support Brace for Wrist
A wrist brace. A glove-like structure is formed of a flexible elastic material to conform to a human wrist and hand. The structure includes a first set of holes in the flexible elastic material on the palm side of the structure having a first size. Support sections are provided with additional sets of holes in the flexible elastic material having a second size that is smaller than the first size to provide increased resistance to rotational movements of the human wrist.
Flexible support brace for ankle
An ankle brace. A sleeve is formed of flexible elastic material to conform to the human ankle, with a top opening and a foot opening. A first sleeve portion conforms to the posterior region of the ankle; a second sleeve portion conforms to the anterior region of the ankle; a third sleeve portion conforms to the medial region of the ankle; and a fourth sleeve portion conforms to the lateral region of the ankle. The medial and lateral sleeve portions are formed with an increased volume of flexible elastic material relative to a posterior and anterior sleeve portions.
Wound therapy device, kit, and method for improved application to wounds on complex geometries
A negative pressure wound therapy device, kit, and method are provided for improved treatment of wounds on complex three-dimensional anatomies. The device includes a conformable manifold made of a porous and permeable material with a pattern of cuts designed to transform the manifold from a relaxed, planar state to a pliable three-dimensional state when extended along the lateral axis. The kit further may include a wound interface layer, an adhesive, breathable drape, and a pneumatic connection to a negative pressure wound therapy device. Finally, a method for treating wounds using reduced pressure and the presently disclosed kit is provided.
Light therapy apparatus
A light therapy apparatus includes a pad comprising at least a first layer and a second layer and a side scattering light guide mounted between the first layer and the second layer and having a first end and a second end. The first end and the second end extend in parallel with each other externally from the pad, the side scattering light guide extends from at least one of the first end or the second end in a sinusoidal shape or an inward extending circular spiral between the first layer and the second layer, and at least one of the first layer or the second layer is translucent.
Foot sleeve
A sleeve for use with a foot, the sleeve including a compression portion operable to apply compression to the midfoot region of the foot. The foot sleeve further includes a raised heel support portion for abutment with the base of the heel region of the foot, and a ball portion for abutment with the ball region of the foot. The thickness of the raised heel support portion is greater than the thickness of the ball portion. The foot sleeve can be used for the treatment of plantar fasciitis.
Medical dressing
A medical dressing having a geometrical plane of symmetry. A border portion extends along the contour of the pad. A central portion of the dressing has a smaller width perpendicular to the plane of symmetry than the widths of the adjoining portions. The medical dressing comprises a gripping tab which is coplanar with the border portion and which projects outwardly from the border portion. The medical dressing may be used for pressure ulcer prevention, such as at a heel of a human body.
Flexible Wearable Foot Sling
A wearable foot sling for providing focal compression to portions of a wearer's foot, toes and leg, includes a sock member formed from an elastomeric fabric; a plantar surface portion having a thickened fabric pad; a plurality of tubes configured for engaged passage of the wearer's toes; a plurality of longitudinal fibers connecting the plurality of tubes with the thickened fabric pad; a plurality of toe sleeves configured for receipt of each toe of the wearer; a circumferential band forming a tension path beginning at a dorsum portion, wrapping laterally around at a lateral longitudinal arch portion and gradually widening as it runs medially at a medial longitudinal arch portion, and continuing upwards toward the dorsum portion to form a closed loop; the circumferential band continuing laterally and superior across an anterior ankle join portion, wrapping around a lower tibia portion and spiraling to the top of the sock member.
Devices and methods for protecting and offloading pressure in casting neuropathic and diabetic wounds of the foot
A method and device are shown for use in casting for Total Contact Casting for offloading pressure in neuropathic and diabetic wounds or fractures of the appendages such as the human leg or foot. The outer casting material used can be comprised of traditional casting materials. A total foot protection pad underlies the traditional casting materials. It is a one piece moldable system that encompasses the total foot from the Achilles along the lateral and medial foot, covering the plantar surface, the malleoli and folds and extends over the dorsum. The one piece system has adhesive backing on a contact side to facilitate its application and/or forms a total foot protection pad beneath the outer hardened casting material.
