A compression foot garment is integrally knit of a body yarn, and adapted for wear on a foot of a user. The foot garment incorporates first and second high compression zones, and a compression release zone between the high compression zones. The first high compression zone is adapted for applying substantially circumferential compression to the foot below the plantar fascia between the calcaneus and metatarso-phalangeal joints and generally around the midfoot. The second high compression zone is adapted for applying substantially circumferential compression to the foot above the calcaneus and generally around an ankle of the user. The first and second high compression zones may comprise elastic yarns integrated with the body yarn. The compression release zone is adapted for applying reduced compression to the foot in an area between the first and second high compression zones.

A foot prosthetic having a pressure relieving, weight distribution pad having a convex surface and a concave surface. The pad includes a central portion having a maximum thickness, the pad gradually tapering from the central portion to an outer peripheral edge thereof, the pad providing a cushioning for the foot. An adhesive layer is formed on the concave surface. During use, the concave surface is affixed to a selected portion of the user's foot thus conforming to the unique shape of the selected portion of the user's foot. The gradual tapering provides a smooth transition being formed between the pad and the user's foot at the outer peripheral edge.

A blister protector sticker that adheres to and protects an individual's foot, including a base layer of closed cell polyvinyl chloride foam, an adhesive layer of hypoallergenic acrylate adhesive operatively attached thereto, and a removable layer removably attached to the adhesive layer, the blister protector sticker having a shape that protects and shields a portion of skin of a foot from blisters. An implant can be used for the treatment of fat pad atrophy. The implant can be installed in the ball of the foot, the heel of the foot, the hands, or other areas. The implant can supplement or replace a patient's fat pads. In some instances, the implant can include an implant pad having a non-permeable external lining and an internal cavity enclosed by the external lining. The internal cavity can include a filler material. The implant can include features that resist rupture and/or migration.

An article of manufacture suitable for addressing a problem in a human body includes a material in sheet form including first and second adhesive-coated parts releasably retained on a cover layer. Each of the first and second adhesive-coated parts includes a support layer of synthetic microfiber fabric having a greater resistance to stretching in a first test direction than in a second test direction and an adhesive intermittent across the support layer. Each of the first and second adhesive-coated parts is elongated with straight sides and rounded end portions and is configured to be removable from the cover layer and adhered to an outer skin surface of the human body. The support layer allows the passage of moisture vapor, and the adhesive being intermittent across the support layer increases permeability.

A therapeutic article of manufacture suitable for adhesive application to the skin of a user includes an elongate support layer formed of a single layer of woven fabric. The woven fabric has a ratio of elongation in percent to tensile strength (lb/in-width) that is less than 0.9 in only one of two test directions, where elongation, tensile strength, and test directions are determined under test conditions specified in ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) D3759. The article of manufacture additionally includes an adhesive intermittent across the support layer and a removable cover layer releasably retained on the adhesive.

In one embodiment, an anatomical support device includes an elongate body. The elongate body includes a first portion extending along a longitudinal axis between a first end and an oppositely positioned second end, a first wing extending transversely from the first portion, and a second wing extending transversely from the first portion. An adhesive material is positioned on at least a portion of one side of the elongate body. The elongate body is rigid in a first direction extending in-line with the longitudinal axis and is stretchable in a second direction extending transversely to the longitudinal axis.

A banded support sock configured to induce a windlass mechanism in a foot includes a sock member having a forefoot portion configured to surround a forefoot of the foot and a heel portion configured to surround a heel of the foot. The banded support sock also includes a primary band having a first end coupled to the forefoot portion of the sock member at a first location, a second end coupled to the forefoot portion of the sock member at a second location, and a body extending between the first end and the second end such that the body extends around the heel portion of the sock member.
