The disposable eye patch further comprises a rim ember circumferentially attached to the second layer, wherein the rim member comprises an adhesive for sticking the eye patch to cover the human eye. The adhesive is a safe for contact with the human skin and can be easily removed and discarded after a single use. The disposable eye patch further comprises an absorbent layer attached to the first layer facing the outer surface of the eye.

A therapeutic mask for treatment of the eyes, including an eye coverage portion for application to the eye, a receiver in the eye coverage portion positioned to align with the eye, and at least one pod for detachably securing within the receiver. The pod includes material for delivering thermal, moisture and/or medication therapy and treatment to the eye.

An airway holder for use in holding an airway device, such as an air or nose tube, has a first pair of wings symmetrically disposed about a center portion and a second pair of wings asymmetrically disposed about the center portion. One of the wings of the second pair of wings has an offset to facilitate that wing wrapping about a portion of the other wing of that pair about the airway device, before then, preferably being adhered to the face of the patient. Controllers for dry eye treatment apparatus and methods are described herein which generally comprise a patch or strip affixed to the skin of the upper and/or lower eyelids to deliver heat to the one or more meibomian glands contained within the underlying skin. The treatment strip or strips include one or more strips configured to adhere to an underlying region of skin in proximity to one or both eyes of a subject such that the one or more strips allow for the subject to blink naturally without restriction from the one or more patches. A controller is in communication with the one or more strips and is programmable to monitor a temperature of the one or more strips to provide a treatment therapy above a threshold temperature. Additionally forceps for mechanically expressing the Meibomian glands may be included with the strips and/or controller.

The present invention relates to a nanocomposite ocular device that can release drugs within a close distance to the ocular surface and provide controlled and sustained release of the drug at a constant rate. The device can achieve both optical and medical functions. The device comprises a drug, one or more reservoir domains, and a barrier layer configured to block the drug diffusion paths from the reservoir domain to the ocular surface in the eye of the subject, wherein the drug partitions between the reservoir domain and the barrier layer, and the equilibrium drug solubility in the reservoir domain is at least five folds higher than that in the barrier layer.

An amblyopia patch device including an eye patch, a light sensor attached to the eye patch, an alarm in communication with the light sensor, and an electronics system for triggering the alarm when the light sensor senses a light value above a pre-set threshold.
