System for treatment of eye conditions
A dry eye treatment device and method including a pliable thermal pack engageable upon a first side of a vibration ring is provided. The vibration ring has a second side adapted for positioning on the eyelid of a user to communicate vibration thereto from the vibration ring and heat or cold from a bulging portion of the thermal pack communicating through a central opening of the vibration ring. A cover forming a cavity on the face of the user to house the vibration ring and the thermal pack may also be employed.
HIGH-PRECISION DRUG DELIVERY BY DUAL-DOMAIN OCULAR DEVICE
The present invention relates to a nanocomposite ocular device that can release drugs within a close distance to the ocular surface and provide controlled and sustained release of the drug at a constant rate. The device can achieve both optical and medical functions. The device comprises a drug, one or more reservoir domains, and a barrier layer configured to block the drug diffusion paths from the reservoir domain to the ocular surface in the eye of the subject, wherein the drug partitions between the reservoir domain and the barrier layer, and the equilibrium drug solubility in the reservoir domain is at least five folds higher than that in the barrier layer.
System for Treatment of Eye Conditions
A dry eye treatment device and method including a pliable thermal pack engageable upon a first side of a vibration ring is provided. The vibration ring has a second side adapted for positioning on the face of a user to communicate vibration to the eyelids of a user from the vibration ring, and heat or cold from a bulging portion of the thermal pack communicating through a pair of openings in the vibration ring. A cover forming a cavity on the face of the user to house the vibration ring and the thermal pack may also be employed.
Eyelid Closure Patch
An eyelid closure patch including a flexible transparent backing material defining a main body with a width and a length and a tab. An adhesive is applied to one surface of the backing material such that the adhesive substantially covers the main body and the tab. An overlying cover sheet covers the adhesive on the tab to define a non-adhesive tab. Methods of manufacturing an eyelid closure patches are also provided.
Under-eye strip
An improved under-eye strip that reduces low-angle reflected light compared to the prior art through the use of a fuzzy material on the exposed surface of the strip.
Self-adhering occlusion eye patch and method of constructing and using same
A self-adhering occlusion eye patch, wherein the outer non-woven fabric layer is constructed of a spunbond/meltblown/spunbond non-woven material, an inner black padding layer, wherein the inner black padding layer is constructed of a blend of a spun bound non-woven material and cotton wadding such that the inner black padding layer is attached to the outer non-woven fabric layer, and an inner white non-woven layer having a first side and a second side, wherein the inner white non-woven is constructed of a spun bound non-woven material such that the first side of the inner white non-woven layer is attached to the second side of the inner black padding layer and the second side of the inner white non-woven layer is to be located against an eye of a user.
Airway and eye taping system and method of its use
An airway holder for use in holding an airway device, such as an air or nose tube, has a first pair of wings symmetrically disposed about a center portion and a second pair of wings asymmetrically disposed about the center portion. One of the wings of the second pair of wings has an offset to facilitate that wing wrapping about a portion of the other wing of that pair about the airway device, before then, preferably being adhered to the face of the patient. The airway holder may be provided as a portion of a kit with eye protectors in an effort to remove surgical tape (and subsequent reuse with other procedures to potentially spread contamination).
Therapeutic eye mask system
A therapeutic mask system for treatment of the eyes, including a mask portion for attachment to the head of a patient and an eye coverage pod that is detachably coupled to the mask portion. The mask portion can include an eye coverage portion having a receiver in which the eye coverage pod is releasably secured. Alternatively, the therapeutic mask system includes a mask strap and the eye coverage pod is directly secured to the mask strap. The eye coverage pod includes material for delivering thermal, moisture and/or medication therapy and treatment to the eye. The therapeutic mask system can also include a heat-transmissive treatment pad positioned between the pod and the eye of the user.
THERAPEUTIC EYE MASK SYSTEM
A therapeutic mask system for treatment of the eyes, including a mask portion for attachment to the head of a patient and an eye coverage pod that is detachably coupled to the mask portion. The mask portion can include an eye coverage portion comprising a receiver in which the pod is releasably secured. The pods can also be directly secured to a mask strap. The pod includes material for delivering thermal, moisture and/or medication therapy and treatment to the eye. The system can also include a heat-transmissive treatment pad positioned between the pod and the eye of the user.
DRY EYE TREATMENT SYSTEMS
Dry eye treatment apparatus and methods are described herein which generally comprise a patch or strip affixed to the skin of the upper and/or lower eyelids to deliver heat or other forms of energy, pressure, drugs, moisture, etc. (alone or in combination) to the one or more meibomian glands contained within the underlying skin. The treatment strip or strips include one or more strips configured to adhere to an underlying region of skin in proximity to one or both eyes of a subject such that the one or more strips allow for the subject to blink naturally without restriction from the one or more patches. Moreover, the one or more strips may be configured to emit energy to the underlying region of skin and where the one or more strips are shaped to follow a location of one or more meibomiam glands contained within the underlying region of skin.
