The vibration ring has a second side adapted for positioning on the eyelid of a user to communicate vibration thereto from the vibration ring and heat or cold from a bulging portion of the thermal pack communicating through a central opening of the vibration ring. A cover forming a cavity on the face of the user to house the vibration ring and the thermal pack may also be employed.

The adhesive surface of the superior edge is configured to attach to a region below an eyebrow and on the superior tarsus forming a convex region and further configured to attach to and conform to the superior tarsus when the superior tarsus is in the closed position forming a concave region when the adhesive surface of the inferior edge is to attached to a lower portion of the superior tarsus when the superior tarsus is in the closed position.

Dry eye treatment apparatus and methods are described herein which generally comprise a patch or strip affixed to the skin of the upper and/or lower eyelids to deliver heat or other forms of energy, pressure, drugs, moisture, etc. (alone or in combination) to the one or more meibomian glands contained within the underlying skin. The treatment strip or strips include one or more strips configured to adhere to an underlying region of skin in proximity to one or both eyes of a subject such that the one or more strips allow for the subject to blink naturally without restriction from the one or more patches. Moreover, the one or more strips may be configured to emit energy to the underlying region of skin and where the one or more strips are shaped to follow a location of one or more meibomiam glands contained within the underlying region of skin.

A method for providing faster visual and functional recovery of patients following refractive surgery such as laser assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) is disclosed. The method comprises providing a covering to the eye of a patient comprising an inner portion having an inner rigidity and at least one inner radius of curvature; and an outer portion having an outer rigidity and at least one outer radius of curvature; wherein the inner rigidity is greater than the outer rigidity.
