STERILE MOUTH-INSERTABLE DEVICE TO STOP A NOSEBLEED
A mouth-insertable device, including a main body having a cylindrical shape, a first end disposed at an end of the main body, and a second end disposed at another end of the main body opposite from the first end, wherein the main body has a size to fit between an inner upper lip and an upper gum line of a user.
A REINFORCED ADHESIVE SUBSTRATE
The disclosed reinforced adhesive substrate includes a transparent, flexible, breathable backing with a reinforcing material having open areas to the substrate. The reinforcing material strengthen the breathable backing while maintaining transparency so that overall the substrate is transparent. A transparent adhesive substrate can allow the underlying surface to be visualized.
Rotary aspirator
A rotary aspirator according to the present invention includes: a body portion which has a length in a front and rear direction, and has an outer circumferential surface formed as any one of a circular shape, an elliptical shape, and a polygonal shape in a lateral direction; a handle which is connected to a rear end of the body portion and has a smaller diameter than the rear end of the body portion so that a user moves the handle forward and rearward and rotates the handle in a state in which the user holds the handle by hand; and an absorbing member which is continuously and spirally wound in the front and rear direction of the body portion and absorbs nasal mucus of a target person.
Nosebleed-attenuating apparatus
A nosebleed-attenuating apparatus including a pressure applicator configured to engage with an external bodily surface proximate an area of nasal vascularization between a nose and an upper lip; and a pressure receiver coupled to the pressure applicator, the pressure receiver configured to receive pressure; whereby an amount of the pressure is transferred to the pressure applicator for application to the external bodily surface.
TEMPORARY DRESSING FOR AN INTERNAL WOUND
The invention relates to a device for treating blood flow in an internal wound, including a handling member connected to a series of successively narrower tubes, each tube including a liquid-expandable article. The tubes can be pivotably connected to each other, allowing the tubes to conform to the contours of the wound, or fixed together. The tubes can be encased in a liquid-soluble layer that keeps the liquid-expandable article sequestered from liquids.
The stepwise-tapering profile of the device allows for its insertion into the internal wound with little or no resistance until fully seated. Upon encountering liquids within the wound, the liquid-soluble layer can dissolve to expose the liquid-expandable article. When exposed to the wound liquids, the liquid-expandable element can expand in volume, providing compressive pressure against internal wound surfaces and minimizing blood loss.
The tubes and the liquid-expandable element can include therapeutic agents for treating the wound.
Hemostatic Nose Plugs
A deformable nose plug, comprising a deformable core material and an outer coating provided on said deformable core material, wherein said said outer coating comprises a hemostatic compound. The nose plug has a tapered distal end for insertion into a nostril and a proximal end whereby the nose plug is inserted into the nostril. The deformable core material may comprise a multi-phasic core material wherein a first phase of the multi-phasic core material is characterized by a solid or a semi-solid structure at a temperature of 35 C. or less, and wherein a second phase of the multi-phasic core material is characterized by liquifaction at a temperature of 37 C. or greater. Alternatively, the deformable core material may comprise a porous resiliently compressible substrate. Alternatively, the deformable porous resiliently compressible core material may be one of polymeric sponges, naturally occurring sponges, fluffy cellulosic materials, cotton, rolled gauze, and mixtures thereof.
Facial Bandage Assembly
A facial bandage assembly for absorbing nasal drainage includes a dressing is configured to be positioned on a face such that the dressing extends laterally beneath a nose. The dressing is comprised of a fluid absorbent material to absorb fluid draining from the nose. A strip is positioned within the dressing and the strip is comprised of a resiliently bendable material. The strip is manipulated to shape the dressing into a selected shape to conform to contours of the face. A pair of straps is provided and each of the straps is coupled to the dressing. Each of the straps is extended over a selected one of a pair of ears thereby retaining the dressing beneath the nose.
NASAL COMPRESSION DEVICE
A nose compression device for treating a nosebleed of a person. The device includes a wire frame having a straight middle section and two end sections angled with respect to the middle section. The device also has a body attached to the wire frame, and two nasal sponges attached to the body for insertion into the person's nasal passages. The end sections are wider than the user's nose, and the device is slid upward on the user's face so that the nasal sponges enter the user's nasal passages. The end sections are then bent inward to a pinch position where they pinch the upper lateral side surfaces of the user's nose. The nasal sponges can be pre-treated with medication to further stop the nosebleed. Ice pack may also be provided that extends over the compression device. The combination of compression, medication, and cooling facilitate treatment of the nosebleed.
Fixing device for nasogastric tube
A fixing device of a nasogastric tube contains: an adhesion member, a connection member, and a retainer. The adhesion member includes an adhesive face, a circular column, and an engagement portion. The connection member includes a connecting sheet, a locating post, and a spherical portion. The connecting sheet has a rectangular slot and an annular orifice, such that the annular orifice accommodates the engagement portion of the adhesion member, the rectangular slot slidably receives the circular column of the adhesion member, an end of the connecting sheet proximate to the annular orifice is connected with the locating post, and the other end of the locating post is connected with the spherical portion. The retainer includes a coupling bar and a joining knob. The retainer further includes a clamp section and two press portions. Furthermore, the clamp section has a hollowly circular space defined therein.
