A nursing pad apparatus is constructed according to a method starting with constructing a top layer and a bottom layer from one or more pieces of fabric and an interior set of layers comprised of absorbent material to be placed between the top and bottom layers. The top and bottom layers are combined via a fabric edge, creating a void space for the interior set of layers. A fabric strap is affixed at the edge of the nursing pad apparatus and a fastener is positioned on the first and second ends of the fabric strap. The fabric strap is used to couple the nursing pad apparatus to an article of clothing, with the fasteners used to temporarily affix the nursing pad apparatus in place. The fasteners consist of snaps, eyes hooks, and button and loop.

WASH-DURABLE, FLUID ABSORBENT SUBSTRATE WITH ANTIMICROBIAL PROPERTIES AND/OR IMPROVED WASHABILITY, AND HYGIENE PRODUCT SUCH AS REUSABLE SANITARY NAPKIN
20210162091 · 2021-06-03 ·

The present invention is directed to a substrate, in particular textile material to which one or more antimicrobial and/or hydrophilic and/or stain release agents are adhered. The agent(s) is/are adhered to the substrate in such a manner that they are not released from the textile even if the textile is wetted or washed, so that the textile is reusable. Washability and/or usability of the textile are improved where one or more hydrophilic and/or stain release agents are adhered to the textile. The substrate can be used, e.g., in a reusable sanitary napkin or other hygiene product. The structure of the hygiene product is disclosed, together with a process of attaching the different layers of the hygiene product together by ultrasonic welding. The invention further relates to a method of finishing a substrate by applying and binding antimicrobial and/or hydrophilic and/or stain release agents to the substrate so that the agents are essentially irreversibly adhered to the finished substrate.

An anesthetic breast pad includes a polyester panel having a front surface, a rear surface, a continuous peripheral edge and a central aperture for accommodating a wearer's breast nipple. A sectoral notch extending from the peripheral edge to the central aperture allows the aperture and the panel to expand, contract and contort to comfortably adapt to the wearer. On the rear surface of the panel, along the entire peripheral edge, is an adhesive strip for tenuously securing the pad to the wearer. Within the boundary formed by the continuous adhesive strip is a thin sheet pretreated with a topical anesthetic. Accordingly, prior to surgery, a patient adhesively secures the pad to the breast to conveniently apply the anesthetic to the underlying area.
