A sensor system for detecting a property of or within an absorbent article may comprise an absorbent article and a sensor. The absorbent article may comprise a garment-facing layer and an absorbent assembly. The sensor may be disposed in and/or on the absorbent article. The sensor may be separable from the absorbent article. The sensor may be configured to sense a change in condition within the absorbent article.

Wireless sensor systems and methods

Incontinence management systems, methods, and sensors are provided that alert the caregiver when a patient's brief has been soiled. A resonant circuit includes a polyaniline/carbon black (PANI/CB) composite chemiresistor which undergoes a large impedance change upon exposure to the vapor or smell of urine or feces. Due to the impedance change of the PANI/CB resistor, characteristics of the resonant circuit change when the sensor is exposed to urine or feces vapor. The sensor responds to an interrogating signal with a signal based least in part on the sensor's impedance and indicates the condition of the brief as soiled or clean.

An absorptive anal hygiene apparatus for anal hygiene includes a sponge body having a body top side, a body bottom side, a body front side, a body back side, a body left side, and a body right side. The body bottom side is larger than the body top side. The sponge body is an absorptive material configured to be inserted within a user's buttocks adjacent the anus to prevent transfer of fecal matter from the user's anus to a user's clothing. A tab is coupled to the body top side of the sponge body. An extraction string is coupled to the tab. The extraction string is pullable to remove the sponge body from the user's buttocks.

Absorbent article having waist gasketing element

An absorbent article for wearing about the lower torso of a wearer includes a waist gasketing element disposed in one of the first or the second waist regions and joined to the chassis in a chassis attachment region. The waist gasketing element comprises an outboard lateral edge and an inboard lateral edge. The chassis attachment region comprises a first zone proximate to the outboard lateral edge and a second zone disposed longitudinally inboard of the first zone. Each of the first and the second zones comprise one or more chassis attachment bonds. The first zone comprises a first total basis weight and the second zone comprises a second total basis weight, wherein the second total basis weight is greater than the first total basis weight.

Absorbent articles with improved absorption properties

An absorbent article such as disposable diaper, training pant, and adult incontinence undergarment comprising an absorbent structure comprising superabsorbent polymer particles, the article being able to absorb and contain body exudates and having improved absorption properties and therefore being able to reduce leakage, especially at the first gush, i.e. when the article starts to be wetted.
