Urine absorbent pad
A disposable urine trap in the form of a foldable pad that envelops the male genitalia and closes around the organ to form a barrier that prevents urine from escaping the trap. The pad includes an asymmetric pair of wings that are separated by a gap and attached to the main body of the pad. The first wing is preferably rectangular in that the distal angles are substantially right angles with parallel side edges and a perpendicular distal edge, and has a length that exceeds a length of a second wing, which is terminates so that the distal edge of the second wing is angled to form an obtuse and an acute angle with respect to its generally parallel sides.
URINE COLLECTION SYSTEMS, AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
Urine collection systems are disclosed. Methods of making and using urine collection systems are also disclosed.
Method of Treating Diaper Rash with a Poly-Oxygenated Metal Hydroxide
An oxygen impregnated material suitable for an oxygenating therapeutic to treat wounds with oxygen. The impregnated material avoids the applicational complications associated with conventional oxygen therapeutics, such as reliance on gaseous oxygen, systemic toxicity, and patient immobility. This impregnated material can be used, for example, in bandage-type dressings, or a drape of a vacuum-assisted closure (VAC). This impregnated material can also be used in a diaper to treat and reduce the formation of a rash on the skin.
MALE URINARY INCONTINENCE DEVICE
Disclosed herein are male urinary incontinence devices, systems, and methods for urine collection. A male urinary incontinence device comprising: a sheathe sized to fit over the penis of a user comprising: a base, a shaft, and a head; a strap style retention member, wherein the strap style retention member is affixed to an undersurface of the sheathe further comprising: a left retention member strap having a refastenable securing means on the left retention member strap surface, a right retention member strap having the refastenable securing means on the right retention member strap surface; and a bottom portion adapted to fit over the sheathe at the distal end of the penis comprising: a lip portion wherein the lip portion is adapted to provide sealing adherence to the sheathe at the distal end of the penis, and an expandable balloon portion having an absorbent pad adapted to expand for collecting fluid.
Negative pressure therapy system
A negative pressure therapy system is provided for inducing negative pressure in a portion of a urinary tract of a patient, the system including: (a) at least one ureteral catheter configured to be positioned within a ureter and/or kidney of a patient; (b) one or more sensor(s) configured to determine information about urine produced within a urinary tract of the patient; and (c) a controller configured to increase urine production of the patient by adjusting one or more operating parameters of a negative pressure source for inducing negative pressure through the at least one ureteral catheter into the urinary tract of the patient, based at least in part upon the information determined by the one or more sensor(s).
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR RECEIVING DISCHARGED URINE
A system suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person or animal may include an urine collecting assembly having a body, a sealing flange, and a reservoir within the body and partially defined by the sealing flange. The sealing flange can define an opening such that the interior of the body is accessible via the opening. A peripheral edge of the opening can be configured to seal around a shaft of a penis of a user disposed through the opening. The urine collecting assembly can also include an outlet in fluidic communication with the reservoir. The urine collecting assembly can be arranged such that a fluid can flow into the body from the urethral opening of the user's penis, collect in the reservoir, and flow out of the outlet.
DEVICE FOR THE ASEPTIC COLLECTION OF URINE
A device for the aseptic collection of urine for subjects who do not have bladder 5 control, which comprises a housing made of water-soluble and absorbent material of flattened cylindrical shape provided with an adhesive zone on its outer surface, and a urine collecting container comprising a bag of flexible material, the base of which has an edge zone with 10 passage holes and a central zone, wherein said bag is made of flexible material and its edge zone is made of an elastic and semi-rigid material, which, in its initial position, is folded, overlaid on itself under tension, and said storage zone, in said initial position, is folded 15 over itself, said bag of flexible material being inserted into said housing of water-soluble and absorbent material.
Soft, light-weight male urine receptacle and method of use
A male urine receptacle is provided that includes a liquid permeable inner layer, a liquid impermeable outer layer and an absorbent core located therebetween. The inner layer, outer layer and absorbent core are assembled together to form a layered assembly, which, when folded into a into a U configuration, defines a front portion and a back portion of the receptacle. At least a portion of the side edges between the front portion and the back portion are closed by sealing or otherwise securing together the side edges of the layered assembly. At least one of the closed sides forms an expandable gusset and, preferably, both sides include at least one gusset. A closure mechanism is configured to adjust the open, upper periphery of the receptacle to provide a comfortable fit onto a penis, thus retaining the male urine receptacle on the penis.
Absorbent article having waist gasketing element
An absorbent article for wearing about the lower torso of a wearer includes a waist gasketing element disposed in one of the first or the second waist regions and joined to the chassis in a chassis attachment region. The waist gasketing element comprises an outboard lateral edge and an inboard lateral edge. The chassis attachment region comprises a first zone proximate to the outboard lateral edge and a second zone disposed longitudinally inboard of the first zone. Each of the first and the second zones comprise one or more chassis attachment bonds. The first zone comprises a first total basis weight and the second zone comprises a second total basis weight, wherein the second total basis weight is greater than the first total basis weight.
