ABSORBENT ARTICLE HAVING WAIST GASKETING ELEMENT
An absorbent article for wearing about the lower torso of a wearer includes a waist gasketing element disposed in one of the first or the second waist regions and joined to the chassis in a chassis attachment region. The waist gasketing element comprises an outboard lateral edge and an inboard lateral edge. The chassis attachment region comprises a first zone proximate to the outboard lateral edge and a second zone disposed longitudinally inboard of the first zone. Each of the first and the second zones comprise one or more chassis attachment bonds. The first zone comprises a first total basis weight and the second zone comprises a second total basis weight, wherein the second total basis weight is greater than the first total basis weight.
Diaper
A diaper includes a medical pad including a piece of substrate with a major surface and an electric circuit on the major surface, a sensor connected with the electric circuit for measuring the electrical resistance of the electric circuit, and a wireless data transceiver or a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag electrically connected with the sensor for receiving results of the measuring from the sensor for subsequent transmission. The system carries out real time self-calibration to adaptively monitor the condition of the medical pad even in the face of changing environment and changing material properties.
Aldehyde control in personal care products
An odor control layer for personal care products has a composition that has a PEG or PEG copolymer composition applied thereto. The layer can be placed in a personal care product, such as a diaper, training pant, absorbent under pant, adult incontinence product, or feminine hygiene product. Additional odor control layers may include silver nanoparticles and activated carbon compositions. In an alternative form, a single odor control layer includes the PEG composition and the activated carbon and/or silver nanoparticle compositions. A cleansing composition with PEG and possibly active carbon and silver nanoparticles may be combined with the personal care product to form a kit.
METHOD FOR MONITORING INCONTINENCE
According to one aspect of the inventive concept there is provided a method of monitoring incontinence for a user, comprising: determining, using a urine sensitive circuit provided at an absorbent article and arranged to present a changed electrical characteristic when exposed to urine, whether the user has urinated on the absorbent article, performing, using a measurement circuit, a measurement on the urine bladder to determine a parameter which varies with a fill level of the urine bladder, and in response to determining that the user has urinated on the absorbent article, recording, by a processing circuit, data representing said parameter.
Electronics enclosure and receptacle
An electronics enclosure has terminal conductors for contacting corresponding conductors in a receptacle when engaged with the receptacle. The electronics enclosure has a housing having first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth surface portions arranged to define the exterior of the housing. The receptacle engages and retains the corresponding electronics enclosure, the receptacle having terminal conductors for contacting corresponding conductors in the enclosure when engaged with the enclosure. The receptacle has a base surface along which the enclosure can translate in an engagement direction to engage the enclosure with the receptacle. An absorbent article management system includes: a diaper having the receptacle at which sensor elements of the diaper terminate; a logger unit having logger electronics enclosed in the enclosure and adapted to cooperate with the receptacle to connect the logger electronics to the sensor elements; and data processing equipment for processing data acquired from the sensor elements by the logger and for taking action based on the same.
ABSORBENT ARTICLES HAVING APERTURED, THREE-DIMENSIONAL MATERIALS AND METHODS FOR MAKING SAME
An absorbent article is provided. The absorbent article includes a nonwoven, liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed at least partially intermediate the topsheet and the backsheet. The topsheet includes a layer of fibers and has a plurality of apertures defined in the layer of fibers. At least some of the apertures have a side wall having a portion disposed an angle in the range of about 55 degrees to about 90 degrees, in the range of about 60 degrees to about 80 degrees, or in the range of about 63 degrees to about 75 degrees, according to the 2D X-Ray CT Scan Test herein.
Incontinence system
Particular embodiments of the inventive technology may provide an incontinence pad that includes projection, such as a raised ridge, or a short length projection, that extends from a pad base of and effects application of a force against the urethra of a user (the force, typically upward, that may result from sitting by the user and/or tight fitting shorts and/or pulling a cord attached to the projection); the projection may act to transfer a force from the projection to the urethra. This force may partially or entirely obstruct flow of urine through, or out of the urethra, that might occur otherwise (i.e., without the projection). Another example of the many independent aspects of the inventive technology relates to the provision, as part of an incontinence pad, of a cord that is attached to part of the pad, such as (in only certain embodiments) the aforementioned upward projection.
PORTABLE URINAL
A portable urinal capable of handling urgent urination or urination while children and adults of all ages which can use hands carry the portable urinal without using the conventional toilet, includes: a moisture solidification layer containing a super absorbent polymer; and a plate-shaped support member supporting the moisture solidification layer and having a hollow portion; and a shape retaining wire retaining the plate-shaped support member in the form of an alphabet C.
Patient incontinence and lifting pad
A patient incontinence and lifting pad is an apparatus utilized to absorb urine excreted by a bedridden patient as well as to facilitate turning and lifting the patient. The apparatus includes a bed pad on which the patient is able to lie as well as an attached first securing strap and a second securing strap used to anchor the bed pad to a hospital bed railing or similar structure. An elongated band of the first securing strap and the second securing strap may be attached to itself in order to anchor the bed pad. An absorbent incontinence pad insert for absorbing urine is inserted within a slot on the bed pad and may be removable/replaceable. The absorbent incontinence pad insert may be held in place within the slot by a peripheral hook fastener strip.
