SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VOLUMETRIC ACQUISITION IN A SINGLE-SIDED MRI SCANNER
A method for performing magnetic resonance imaging is provided. The method includes providing a magnetic resonance imaging system comprising: a radio frequency receive system comprising a radio frequency receive coil, and a housing, wherein the housing comprises a permanent magnet for providing an inhomogeneous permanent gradient field, a radio frequency transmit system, and a single-sided gradient coil set. The method also includes placing the receive coil proximate a target subject; applying a sequence of chirped pulses via the transmit system; applying a multi-slice excitation along the inhomogeneous permanent gradient field; applying a plurality of gradient pulses via the gradient coil set orthogonal to the inhomogeneous permanent gradient field; acquiring a signal of the target subject via the receive system, wherein the signal comprises at least two chirped pulses; and forming a magnetic resonance image of the target subject.
Low-field diffusion weighted imaging
Methods and apparatus for operating a low-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system to perform diffusion weighted imaging, the low-field MRI system including a plurality of magnetics components including a B.sub.0 magnet configured to produce a low-field main magnetic field B.sub.0, at least one gradient coil configured to, when operated, provide spatial encoding of emitted magnetic resonance signals, and at least one radio frequency (RF) component configured to acquire, when operated, the emitted magnetic resonance signals. The method comprises controlling one or more of the plurality of magnetics components in accordance with at least one pulse sequence having a diffusion-weighted gradient encoding period followed by multiple echo periods during which magnetic resonance signals are produced and detected, wherein at least two of the multiple echo periods correspond to respective encoded echoes having an opposite gradient polarity.
Low-field diffusion weighted imaging
Methods and apparatus for operating a low-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system to perform diffusion weighted imaging, the low-field MRI system including a plurality of magnetics components including a B.sub.0 magnet configured to produce a low-field main magnetic field B.sub.0, at least one gradient coil configured to, when operated, provide spatial encoding of emitted magnetic resonance signals, and at least one radio frequency (RF) component configured to acquire, when operated, the emitted magnetic resonance signals. The method comprises controlling one or more of the plurality of magnetics components in accordance with at least one pulse sequence having a diffusion-weighted gradient encoding period followed by multiple echo periods during which magnetic resonance signals are produced and detected, wherein at least two of the multiple echo periods correspond to respective encoded echoes having an opposite gradient polarity.

An asymmetric electromagnet system, method, and method of producing an asymmetric electromagnet system, wherein the asymmetric electromagnet system is for generating an imaging magnetic field in an imaging region with an imaging isocentre, the imaging region being asymmetrically positioned within a gradient coil bore inside a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system during imaging, the electromagnet assembly comprising: an asymmetric gradient coil configured to generate a gradient field in the asymmetrically positioned imaging region, at least one gradient axis having the gradient field with a constant offset component such that the position at which the gradient field passes through zero is offset with respect to the imaging isocentre of the asymmetrically positioned imaging region.
Fluid-cooled electromagnets
A fluid-cooled electromagnet includes an upper housing, a lower housing vertically aligned with the upper housing, a plurality of pancake coils disposed between the upper housing and the lower housing to be spaced apart from each other and sequentially stacked to have a washer shape, and at least one spacer, disposed between the upper housing and the lower housing, accommodating the pancake coils at regular intervals.
MPI imaging device, method for generating a magnetic field with a gradient and a field-free line by means of an MPI imaging device
An MPI imaging device for mapping an object to be examined in a sample volume, with a magnet arrangement which is designed to generate an MPI magnetic field with a gradient B1 and a field-free line in the sample volume, the magnet arrangement comprising a first pair of magnet rings with two magnet rings in a Halbach dipole configuration, which are arranged coaxially on a common Z axis that runs through the sample volume, wherein the magnet arrangement comprises a second pair of magnet rings with two further magnet rings in a Halbach dipole configuration, which is arranged coaxially in relation to the first pair of magnet rings, the magnet rings of both pairs being arranged rotatably with respect to one another about the Z axis. As a result, a variable MPI selection field can be generated by means of permanent magnets.

OPERATING AN MRI APPARATUS
A method of operating a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) apparatus includes exciting a body coil of the MRI apparatus to emit a radio-frequency signal, determining a center frequency of a resonance curve of the body coil, and calculating a magnet target frequency based on the determined center frequency. A magnet is ramped to the magnet target frequency.
