CURRENT SUPPLY OF A MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING INSTALLATION
A circuit arrangement is provided for the current supply of a magnetic resonance imaging installation with a radio-frequency shielding cabin and at least one basic field magnet. The arrangement includes a first circuit arranged outside the radio-frequency shielding cabin and configured to generate a DC link voltage from a grid voltage, and a second circuit arranged within the radio-frequency shielding cabin and configured to generate a magnetization current for the basic field magnet from the DC link voltage. This architecture makes it possible to realize a cost-effective solution for an integrated (fixedly installed) modular magnetization current supply.

A brain measurement apparatus includes: a magnetoencephalograph including optically pumped magnetometers, magnetic sensors for measuring geomagnetic field at positions of the optically pumped magnetometers, magnetic sensors for measuring a fluctuating magnetic field at the positions of the optically pumped magnetometers, nulling coils for cancelling the geomagnetic field, and an active shield coil for cancelling the fluctuating magnetic field; an MRI apparatus including nulling coils for applying a static magnetic field and a gradient magnetic field, a transmission coil, and a receive coil; and a control device that, when measuring a brain's magnetic field, controls currents supplied to the nulling coils and the active shield coil based on measured values of the magnetic sensors and, when measuring an MR image, controls the static magnetic field and the gradient magnetic field by controlling currents supplied to the nulling coils and generates an MR image from an output of the receive coil.

An MRI scanner and a method for operation of the MRI scanner are provided. The MRI scanner has a first receiving antenna for receiving a magnetic resonance signal from a patient in a patient tunnel, a second receiving antenna for receiving a signal having the Larmor frequency of the magnetic resonance signal, and a receiver. The second receiving antenna is located outside of the patient tunnel or near an opening thereof. The receiver has a signal connection to the first receiving antenna and the second receiving antenna and is configured to suppress an interference signal by the second receiving antenna in the magnetic resonance signal received by the first receiving antenna.

An MRI scanner and a method for operation of the MRI scanner are provided. A COIL ASSEMBLY FOR MR IMAGING APPLICATIONS
A coil assembly for MR imaging applications comprises—an electrically conducting RF transmitter coil arrangement (2) for generating an excitation field at an MR operating frequency, the transmitter coil arrangement forming a tubular structure disposed around an imaging volume (4) and having a longitudinal axis (A); —an external RF shield (6) surrounding the transmitter coil arrangement; —at least one electrically conducting RF receiver coil (8; 8a, 8b) disposed within the imaging volume for receiving MR signal from a subject or object disposed therein, the receiver coil being electrically connected, at a connection point (10; 10a, 10b) thereof, to a respective RF receive line (12; 12a, 12b) connectable to a receiver device (14) located outside of the external RF shield. In order to improve the performance of the coil assembly, the respective RF receive line of each receiver coil is oriented substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (A) in a receiver-proximal segment (16; 16a, 16b) between the connection point (10; 10a, 10b) and a neighboring face portion (18; 18a, 18b) of the external RF shield through which the receive line (12; 12a, 12b) is conducted.
