BEACON-BASED POSITION AWARENESS SYSTEM
A system comprising: a transmitting device configured to transmit, in at least one plane, a plurality of directional signals each covering an angular sector, wherein every adjacent pair of said angular sectors overlaps partially to create a logical sector, and wherein each of said plurality of directional signals encodes at least an indication regarding each said logical sector associated therewith; and a client device comprising program instructions executable by at least one hardware processor to: cause the client device to receive at least some of said plurality of directional signals, calculate a signal strength level (RSL) value for each of said received directional signals, and determine that said client device is located within a said logical sector, when two highest said RSL values (i) are related to two said directional signals associated with said logical sector, and (ii) are within a specified value range of each other.
Determining a location of a runway based on radar signals
In some examples, a system includes a radar device configured to transmit first X-band radar signals in a weather mode and receive first return X-band radar signals in the weather mode. In some examples, the radar device is further configured to transmit second X-band radar signals in a landing mode and receive second return X-band radar signals in the landing mode. In some examples, the system also includes processing circuitry configured to detect, in the weather mode, weather formations based on the first return X-band radar signals. In some examples, the processing circuitry is further configured to determine, in the landing mode, a position of a transponder based on the second return X-band radar signals received by the radar device and determine a location of a runway based on the position of the transponder.

Data transmitting device, and data transmitting method
A data transmitting device includes: a transmitter; a processor; and a memory comprising instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations. The operations include: performing beam forming processing with a terminal provided in at least one moving object; detecting a beam angle based on a result of the beam forming processing; estimating a position of the at least one moving object based on the beam angle and installation position information of the data transmitting device; determining whether the estimated position of the at least one moving object is within a communication area of the data transmitting device; and transmitting desired data to the at least one moving object through the transmitter if it is determined to be within the communication area.
Method, control apparatus and vehicle
A transmitter which emits at least two electromagnetic fields. An amplitude of each of the at least two electromagnetic fields has an anisotropy in one plane. An angular arrangement of the receiver relative to the transmitter is determined based on the amplitude of the at least two electromagnetic fields at the position of a receiver.
