20210396831 · 2021-12-23 ·

A wireless hotspot device is equipped with a directional antenna. A method optimizes a bitrate of the device in a mobile network with distributed cells, each cell covered by a fixed transceiver. The method includes: rotating the antenna substantially azimuthally at least 90 degrees, in steps of N degrees, wherein N is a fixed or variable number; scanning for available cells for each step of rotation; observing a signal to noise ratio for each available cell in each step; saving an optimized azimuthal direction for each available cell, the optimized direction corresponding to the highest signal to noise ratio; repeating the steps for a number of frequency bands, setting up a data connection and running a speed test for all optimized directions of each frequency band; automatically selecting an azimuthal operation position of the antenna based on the speed tests; and moving the antenna to the operation position.

MULTIPLE LONG BASELINE INTERFEROMETRY GEOLOCATION

Techniques are provided for emitter geolocation. A methodology implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes measuring phase differences between radar signals received at one or more pairs of antennas. The method also includes calculating hypothesized phase differences based on ray tracings from hypothesized emitter locations at a first set of grid points, to the antennas. The method further includes generating scores based on correlations between the measured phase differences and the hypothesized phase differences. The method further includes generating an error ellipse based on candidate grid points associated with scores that are above a threshold. The process may be repeated on a second set of grid points, bounded by the error ellipse, to generate a second set of scores. The grid point, from the second set of grid points, that is associated with the highest of the second set of scores is selected as the estimated emitter geolocation.

PHASED ARRAY ANTENNA DEVICE AND PROGRAM
20220200161 · 2022-06-23 · ·

A phased array antenna device for receiving a signal from a satellite includes subarrays including antenna elements and phase shifters that shift phases of signals received by the antenna elements with set phase shift values, a demodulator that demodulates the signals from the satellite with the phases shifted by the phase shifters and outputs the demodulated signals, and a controller that sets the phase shift values of the phase shifters and controls a beam direction. The controller calculates, for each of the subarrays, a direction-correction phase shift value that maximizes a power value of the signal from the satellite by being added to the phase shift values of the phase shifters included in the subarray and adds the direction-correction phase shift value to the phase shift values of the phase shifters included in the subarray.

Antenna control using real-time sensor fusion

Systems and methods are disclosed for controlling an antenna during communication with a satellite using satellite measurement data from multiple data sources. The satellite measurement data may include real-time positioning information derived from output of an onboard component of the satellite and/or received from a plurality of disparate data sources during a communication window between the satellite and the antenna. The satellite measurement data may be provided to an orbit determination (OD) service and used to generate updated ODs for the satellite during the communication window. The antenna may be controlled to adjust pointing angles during the communication window based on the updated ODs.

Detecting unauthorized access of a locked key container having a key for a vehicle or a premises. An indication is received at a sensor coupled to the key that the key container is being tampered with. A notification is sent in response to receiving the indication that the key container is being tampered with.
