Analog signal processing method for accurate single antenna direction finding
Embodiments are directed to receiving an incoming signal, converting, by an analog circuit, the signal to a discrete time signal, applying, by the analog circuit, a transformation algorithm to the discrete time signal to obtain frequency samples of the discrete time signal, applying, by the analog circuit, a cross correlation algorithm to the frequency samples to obtain a cross spectral density (CSD), detecting, by the analog circuit, phase slopes associated with the CSD, and calculating an angle of arrival (AoA) of the incoming signal based on the phase slopes.
Angle of arrival estimation using a single receive chain
Techniques for determining an angle-of-arrival of a wireless transmission are provided, including receiving, with a first antenna, at least a first portion of a wireless transmission, determining when a second portion of the wireless transmission will be received, switching to the second antenna to receive the second portion of the wireless transmission, determining an angle of arrival of the wireless transmission based on the first portion and the second portion of the wireless transmission, and outputting the angle of arrival of the wireless transmission.

Techniques for determining an angle-of-arrival of a wireless transmission are provided, including receiving, with a first antenna, at least a first portion of a wireless transmission, determining when a second portion of the wireless transmission will be received, switching to the second antenna to receive the second portion of the wireless transmission, determining an angle of arrival of the wireless transmission based on the first portion and the second portion of the wireless transmission, and outputting the angle of arrival of the wireless transmission.
Direction finder antenna system
A direction finder antenna system and method are described. The direction finder antenna system comprises a rotatable platform comprising at least two antenna units at selected distance between them, a motor configured for moving the rotatable platform at a motion pattern, and a signal collection circuit configured for receiving data on signal portions collected by said at least two antenna units with respect to different angular positions of said at least two antenna units. The signal collection circuit generates output data indicative of direction of origin of collected signal.
