Mobile-based positioning using assistance data provided by onboard micro-BSA
A method for estimating position of a mobile device which includes receiving, from a network server, observed time difference of arrival (OTDOA) assistance data for a first plurality of cells from a base station almanac (BSA) accessible to the network server. The OTDOA assistance data is stored, within a memory of the mobile device, as a first micro-BSA. A position estimate for the mobile device is determined based upon time difference of arrival (TDOA) measurements associated with an initial subset of the first plurality of cells and initial OTDOA assistance data corresponding to the initial subset of the first plurality of cells. The initial OTDOA assistance data may be generated by the micro-BSA based upon an initial seed estimate.
Determining a position estimate of an asset
A method includes obtaining or holding available a radio map that has been determined based on radio node observation data of radio signals emitted from radio nodes of a radio node network. The method obtains asset observation data of one or more radio signals that have been emitted from an asset and observed by radio nodes of the radio node network. The method also determines a position estimate of the asset based on the asset observation data and the radio map. A corresponding system is also disclosed.

A synthetic reception strength value in a case of synthesizing indirect waves of radio waves generated due to an obstruction is calculated for each piece of receive antenna coordinate information in consideration of a phase of each indirect wave. Relation information indicating relation between input information and teaching information is generated. The input information is the synthetic reception strength value for each piece of the receive antenna coordinate information corresponding to transmit antenna coordinate information. The teaching information is information indicating a reception state of the radio waves being calculated using a method of actually measuring the radio waves output by the transmit antenna at a position of a receive antenna or a method other than the method of the actual measurement. Strength of the radio waves is estimated by calculating the information indicating the reception state of the radio waves by using the transmit antenna coordinate information for evaluation and the generated relation information.
Direction finding system and method for radio direction finding of a target
A direction finding system for radio direction finding of a target emitting at least one signal is described. The direction finding system comprises at least one receiver unit, at least one antenna assigned to the at least one receiver unit and a central processing unit connected to the at least one receiver unit. The at least one receiver unit is configured to measure an absolute receiving power or a relative receiving power of the at least one signal emitted by the target. The central processing unit is configured to determine the power level of the respective power received by the at least one receiver unit. The central processing unit is further configured to determine interpolated constant power contours in order to locate the target. In addition, a method for radio direction finding of a target emitting electromagnetic at least one signal is described.
USING MIRRORS AS A POSITIONING SOLUTION
Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for using mirrors for positioning. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a wireless device includes receiving an indication of at least one mirror from a network node, the at least one mirror being used for positioning the wireless device; performing a measurement on at least one reference signal reflected by the indicated at least one mirror; and performing at least one operational task associated with positioning the wireless device based at least in part on the measurement. In one embodiment, a method implemented in a network node includes indicating at least one mirror to a wireless device the at least one mirror being used for positioning the wireless device; and communicating at least one reference signal to the WD, the at least one reference signal to be reflected by the indicated at least one mirror for positioning the wireless device.

Providing, organizing, and managing location history records of a mobile device
Methods and systems for providing information associated with a location history of a mobile device to one or more applications are disclosed. A mobile device generates one or more location history records based on one or more locations of the mobile device, each location history record comprising one or more points of interest and a duration at the one or more points of interest, receives an information request from at least one application, determines a subset of the one or more location history records that meet criteria from the information request, determines a level of permission for the at least one application based on the information request and the subset of the one or more location history records, and provides information associated with the subset of the one or more location history records to the at least one application based on the level of permission.
