An absorbent article, such as, for example, a diaper, that is toxin-free and made from plant-based, biobased, all natural, clean ingredients. In one embodiment, the absorbent article is a diaper made from plant-based resin, comprising: (i) a first layer, wherein the first layer is a cotton top sheet with a wax-based coating deposited on an exterior surface of the first layer (adjacent to the wearer's skin, or “user-facing”); and (ii) a second layer, wherein the second layer is an acquisition/distribution layer (ADL), and wherein the ADL is comprised of two sub-layers of different materials, a first sublayer comprising an apertured film acquisition sub-layer disposed on top of, and laminated to, a second sub-layer comprising a non-woven acquisition layer.
Absorbent articles with biocompostable properties
Disclosed is an absorbent article with biocompostable properties, such as a feminine hygiene pad. Particularly, the present invention is directed to an absorbent sanitary article with a high degree of biocompostability. The sanitary article comprises, in one embodiment, at least a top layer, a back layer, and absorbent core, wherein the absorbent core includes a superabsorbent polymer, and wherein at least the superabsorbent polymer is biocompostable. The absorbent article exhibits improved biocompostable properties and performance comparable to non-biodegradable absorbent articles which include non-biodegradable superabsorbent polymers.
Method for making a shaped nonwoven
A method for making nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric can include three-dimensional features that define a microzone comprising a first region and a second region. The first and second regions can have a difference in values for an intensive property. The nonwoven further has a plurality of apertures, wherein at least a portion of the aperture abuts at least one of the first region and the second region of the microzone.

BIODEGRADABLE, COMPOSTABLE DIAPER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF
Described herein is a disposable diaper that is substantially bio based and/or biodegradable. The diaper comprises a biodegradable top sheet, a biodegradable super absorbent core and biodegradable water resistant outer layer that is liquid impervious and a breathable bottom sheet, wherein the top sheet is configured for transmission of bodily fluids to the super absorbent core. The absorbent core comprises a first and second layer comprising pulp fibres. The diaper is either manufactured of wholly or partially renewable resources, at the same time can substantially decompose in a compost site, and substantially biodegrade in a conventional landfill.

Detachable disposable absorbent article
A disposable absorbent article utilized for absorption and containment of urine and other body exudates may incorporate components that may be detached from the article after use to provide disposal options based upon the user's preferences and circumstances, such as flushing down a toilet or septic tank, composting, recycling, or disposing in a landfill. Sanitary grips and sanitary gap may provide sanitary placements to detach the article. Ripping features incorporated along the top liner, back liner, or outer liner enclosure may also be used to detach the article. A removable liner may be detached from the top liner or outer liner enclosure. The absorbent core may be released after the article has been detached. To reduce the risk of clogging the toilet, a membrane may be utilized to create a barrier between the absorbent core and high-absorbency material to obstruct the high-absorbency material from being released and flushed.
