20250152431 · 2025-05-15 ·

A tampon product including an applicator with a hollow barrel portion and an ejection plunger within the barrel portion, is disclosed. One or both of the barrel portion and the ejection plunger may have a cylindrical form and be formed of a paper, and have a coating applied to the paper, wherein the coating is not predominately constituted by a material derived from petroleum. The coated paper barrel portion and/or ejection plunger may be manufactured to as to exhibit a static Relative Sliding Resistance Coefficient (CSR) no greater than 0.250 and/or a kinetic CSR no greater than 0.210, for purposes of smooth manufacturing. In combination or alternatively, the coated paper barrel portion and/or ejection plunger may be manufactured to as to exhibit a static Gripping Slip Resistance Coefficient (CGSR) no less than 0.190 and/or a kinetic CGSR no less than 0.170, for purposes of consumer satisfaction.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL NONWOVEN MATERIALS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF

Three dimensional nonwoven materials and methods of manufacturing such materials are disclosed. In one embodiment, a nonwoven material may comprise a plurality of fibers and may further comprise an opposing first surface and a second surface, an apertured zone comprising a plurality of nodes extending away from a base plane on the first surface, a plurality of connecting ligaments interconnecting the plurality of nodes, and a plurality of openings providing a percent open area for the apertured zone that is greater than about 15%, as determined by the Material Sample Analysis Test Method. The material may further comprise a first and second side zones with the nonwoven material having a material width and the first and second side zones having first and second side zone widths, and wherein each of the first and second side zone widths are between about 5% and about 25% of the nonwoven material width.

Nonwoven webs with visually discernible patterns and improved texture perception

A nonwoven web for an absorbent article is provided. The nonwoven web comprises a first surface, a second surface, and a visually discernible pattern of three-dimensional features on the first surface or the second surface. The three-dimensional features comprise one or more first regions and a plurality of second regions. The one or more first regions have a first value of an average intensive property. The plurality second regions have a second value of the average intensive property. The first value and the second value are different and are both greater than zero. The nonwoven web has a Single Layer Chroma value in the range of about 1.0 to about 3.5, according to the Delta Chroma and Single Layer Chroma Test. The nonwoven web has a Delta Chroma value in the range of about +0.1 to about +3.5, according to the Delta Chroma and Single Layer Chroma Test.

Medical dressing

A medical dressing is provided. The dressing has a central portion and a border portion, and comprises a backing layer, an adhesive body contact layer and a pad arranged in the central portion between the backing layer and the adhesive body contact layer. The pad is symmetric about a longitudinal center line and the dressing comprises a lobed portion on each side of the center line. The central portion of the dressing has a tensile strength in the longitudinal (y) direction of at least 60 N, preferably at least 70 N at an elongation of 25%, as measured by the test method ASTM D 882-12. The medical dressing may be used for pressure ulcer prevention, such as at the sacrum region of a human body.

Three-dimensional nonwoven materials and methods of manufacturing thereof

Three dimensional nonwoven materials and methods of manufacturing such materials are disclosed. In one embodiment, a nonwoven material comprising a plurality of fibers may comprise a first surface and a second surface, the first surface being opposite from the second surface, and an apertured zone. The apertured zone may comprise a plurality of nodes extending away from a base plane on the first surface, a plurality of connecting ligaments interconnecting the plurality of nodes, wherein a majority of the plurality of nodes include at least three connecting ligaments connecting to adjacent nodes, and a plurality of openings providing a percent open area for the apertured zone of the nonwoven material from about 10% to about 60%, as determined by the Material Sample Analysis Test Method.

HOT MELT ADHESIVE FORMULATIONS FOR FIBROUS SUBSTRATES
20250236769 · 2025-07-24 ·

The present invention discloses novel hot melt adhesive formulations which exhibit an exceptionally good adhesion on fibrous substrates, both woven and non-woven ones. Furthermore the present adhesives exhibit an adhesion on said substrates which continues to be surprisingly high even when those fibrous substrates are made of very hydrophilic fibres, as cotton and other similar vegetable fibres, and even when said hydrophilic fibers, during their use e.g. inside a hygienic absorbent article, contact water and absorb large amounts of water or of other aqueous fluids, e.g. urine or blood, with an ensuing relevant swelling of the same fibres, said relevant swelling being capable of strongly weakening and even of destroying and mechanically breaking the adhesive bond, already formed under dry conditions.

TAMPON INCLUDING SECONDARY ABSORBENT

A tampon having an insertion end and a withdrawal end. The tampon includes a primary absorbent, disposed toward the insertion end, a secondary absorbent, and a withdrawal member. The secondary absorbent may have a mean length from the primary absorbent and at least three segments each having a mean segment mass. The mean segment mass may be selected such that the secondary absorbent tapers as the secondary absorbent material extends from the primary absorbent.
