A garment that includes one or more grip elements is disclosed. The grip elements, as disposed on a garment, may enable enhanced frictional forces between the garment and an object, such as exercise equipment, with which the garment may make contact. The grip elements may be composite structures disposed on one or more surfaces of the garment and may include an elastomeric and/or rubbery material with grit materials, such as sand, alumina, silicon carbide, or the like, embedded therein. The grit material may be at least partially exposed at the surface of the grip elements and may enhance gripping forces when the grip elements are wet, such as with sweat, compared to grip elements formed by only elastomeric materials. Grip elements may be formed on various portions of a garment separately and then those portions may be attached to each other to form the garment with grip elements.

A protective pad is described for protecting clothing from inadvertent spills. The protective pad includes a liquid absorbent layer, a liquid impermeable layer, and an adhesive coating. The liquid impermeable layer overlies the liquid absorbent layer, while the adhesive coating covers at least a portion of the liquid impermeable layer. The adhesive coating allows the protective pad to be conveniently adhered to a user's clothing. Subsequently, if exposed to a liquid spill, the liquid absorbent layer cooperates with the liquid impermeable layer to absorb and contain the spill so that the underlying clothing remains untouched and undamaged.

INJURY PROTECTION DEVICE

The invention relates to personal injury protection means for protecting, for example, the neck, which can be used in sports such as football, hockey, basketball, handball, rugby, etc. The invention is directed toward increasing the level of protection against impact injuries and improving thermoregulation of the human body. This is achieved by virtue of a flexible structural element (1), and a guard (2) for protecting the back of the neck, these being made of a polymeric material capable of absorbing and dissipating impact energy, in the form of a strip in the form of a collar. The structural element consists of a centre portion (8) and two side portions (9).

Makeup shields for preventing the transfer of makeup from a user to one or more objects, such as clothing are provided. For example, an embodiment of a makeup shield includes a nontransferable material and an attachment mechanism associated with the nontransferable material such that the attachment mechanism is configured to retain the nontransferable material substantially between a face of a user and one or more objects such as, for example, clothing the user is donning or doffing. The makeup shield may include a visor made of a second nontransferable material that is more sheer than the nontransferable material. Alternatively, the makeup shield includes a viewing flap and viewing window where the viewing flap is selectively opened to reveal the viewing window. An embodiment of a makeup shield may include a skirt of nontransferable material that is detachably associated with a face portion of nontransferable material.
