Device and method for measuring absorbent hygiene products
A device for measuring absorbent bodies that are spaced from each other on a continuous web comprises at least two microwave resonators configured to measure values of a shift of a resonance frequency and a spreading of a resonance frequency. The continuous web moves through the at least two microwave resonators and the at least two microwave resonators are positioned at an offset with respect to each other in the transverse and transport direction relative to a direction of transport of the continuous web in order to measure the entire width of the continuous web. At least one of a moisture and a density of the absorbent bodies is determined using the at least two microwave resonators to continuously determine the values of the shift of the resonance frequency and the spreading of the resonance frequency.
Apparatus and method for manufacturing absorbent cores
An apparatus for manufacturing absorbent cores for absorbent sanitary articles, comprising: a rotating forming wheel including a plurality of forming elements defining a peripheral surface of the forming wheel, a forming chamber containing absorbent material facing a portion of the peripheral surface of the forming wheel, a first roller for feeding a first nonwoven web onto the peripheral surface of the forming wheel upstream of the forming chamber, a second roller for feeding a second nonwoven web onto the peripheral surface of the forming wheel downstream of the forming chamber, wherein each of said forming elements comprises a suction surface connected to a suction source and at least one protruding rib having a blowing surface selectively connected to a stationary blowing device, wherein said at least one blowing surface and said suction surface are spaced apart from each other in a radial direction.
PRODUCTION METHOD OF ELASTIC COMPOSITE SHEET, ELASTIC COMPOSITE SHEET, AND DISPOSABLE WEARABLE ARTICLE USING SAID ELASTIC COMPOSITE SHEET
In a production method of an elastic composite sheet, the elastic member does not break when the elastic member, in a stretched state, is bonded to a base material sheet; an elastic composite sheet and a disposable wearable article use the elastic composite sheet. A strip-shaped or string-shaped elastic member composed mainly of a thermoplastic elastic resin is stretched in the longitudinal direction of the elastic member. The stretched elastic member is placed over a first base material sheet such that the main surface of the first base material sheet contacts the elastic member. In this state, the elastic member and the first base material sheet are bonded in a first position that overlaps the elastic member seen from a direction perpendicular to the main surface of the first base material sheet and that is away from the edges of the elastic member.
MANUFACTURING METHOD AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR DISPOSABLE WEARABLE ARTICLE
In order to manufacture a wearable article of the first size, the introduction velocity is set to the first introduction velocity having a high velocity and the arrangement velocity is set to the first the arrangement velocity having a high velocity. In order to manufacture wearable article of the second size having a shorter length in the carrying direction than that of the first size, the introduction velocity is set to the second introduction velocity lower than the first introduction velocity and the arrangement velocity is set to the second arrangement velocity lower than the first the arrangement velocity and the drum velocity is set to a fixed velocity regardless of the size.
Method and a machine for making absorbent sanitary articles
A method for making absorbent sanitary articles whereby each absorbent article is provided with at least one pair of side tabs. The method includes the steps of feeding a single continuous web with a longitudinal axis towards at least one cutting station where the continuous web is divided, by a succession of cuts transverse to the longitudinal axis, into a first and a second series of side tabs, each of which has an asymmetrical shape and separately applying each rotated side tab of the first series and each side tab of the second series along a continuous strip of a material for making the absorbent articles, in such a way that each rotated tab of the first series is juxtaposed with a respective tab of the second series to define a respective pair of side tabs.
Garment manufacturing system and method
Various methods for detecting moisture in briefs compatible with high volume manufacturing are disclosed. The embodiments herein facilitate protection of the method of adding moisture sensing to a diaper, but could also be used to add sensing to pads and bandages. The primary design intent is optimal moisture detection and low per unit cost. Electrodes within a garment measure electrical properties of the electrodes to determine if the item has contacted moisture. The target moisture is urine, however, other sources and types of moisture can also be sensed. Additional analysis capabilities can be added by selecting particular electrodes or add materials that may react with chemical components of the moisture. Applications of the research Include monitor of incontinence using smart brief (e.g. diaper); monitor perspiration, bleeding, or failure of the protective garment; and monitoring exposure of an item to moisture, including but not limited to inanimate items.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE COMPRISING ATTACHMENT REGION
The present invention relates to absorbent articles comprising at least one attachment region for securing a wearable sensing device and further comprising visible placement indicia aligned with the attachment region wherein the visible placement indicia aids the placement of the wearable sensing device on the absorbent article. The present invention further relates to a system comprising the absorbent article and the wearable sensing device.
The present invention further relates to a method for manufacturing an absorbent article comprising visible placement indicia aligned with a wetness indicator and/or attachment region.
Absorbent article
In a half-open underpants-shaped diaper, a lateral end portion of a back waist portion is joined by a first joining portion to a lateral end portion of a front waist portion. The back waist portion includes an elastic region and a fastening portion on the other lateral side, the elastic region stretching/contracting in the lateral direction. The fastening portion is fastenable to the front waist portion when putting on the diaper, so that an end of the fastening portion closer to the elastic region is positioned on an end of an absorbent main body opposite to the first joining portion, the elastic region being located on a non-skin side of the other lateral end portion of the front waist portion, and having a stacking part in which the elastic region is stacked on the other lateral end portion of the front waist portion.
Production device and production method for composite stretchable member
Using a conveyance roller having an outer peripheral surface which is capable of conveying two sheets with an elastic element sandwiched therebetween, in a longitudinal direction of the sheets, and formed with a convex section; and a clamping and pressing device, the sheets with the elastic element sandwiched therebetween are ultrasonic-welded together under pressing. The convex section is formed in a shape extending along a line intersecting a conveyance direction of the conveyance roller, and the convex section is provided with a plurality of grooves at positions spaced apart from each other in a longitudinal direction thereof, wherein each of the grooves extends in the conveyance direction of the conveyance roller to allow a portion of the sheets on which the elastic element is disposed, to be inserted therein.
