Device for detecting moisture for use with a device for monitoring an access to a patient, in particular for monitoring the vascular access in an extracorporeal blood treatment
A device for detecting moisture for use with a device for monitoring an access to a patient for an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus is described. The device for detecting moisture is constituted as a two-dimensionally extending fabric to be placed on the patient's skin, having an electrically conductive structure as a moisture sensor and constituted by non-conductive and conductive warp and weft threads configured to produce in the woven fabric a defined electrically conductive structure through spatial separation of the warp and weft threads. By the use of conductive warp and weft threads, an electrically conductive structure can be constituted having sections running in different directions, thereby creating a moisture sensor exhibiting a particularly high degree of sensitivity. The electrically conductive structure is preferably terminated with a terminating resistor, preferably not a component part but rather part of a connection part of the device, so that production is simplified.
Process for preparing an absorbent article
The present invention is directed to a novel process for preparing an absorbent article, wherein the process comprises providing a first sheet layer (2); conforming said first layer on a first roll C2, whereby longitudinal corrugations are formed on the layer; conforming said corrugated layer (2) on a second roll C3, whereby a pattern of pockets (4, 4a) is obtained; providing a pre-metered amount of SAP particulate material (6); providing a second sheet layer (7) material and affixing it for sandwiching with the first sheet layer; and finishing the absorbent article.
Process for preparing an absorbent article
The present invention is directed to a novel process for manufacturing an absorbent article comprising the steps of: providing a first sheet layer (2); providing an array of pockets (4, 4a) into said first sheet layer; providing a pre-metered amount of SAP particulate material (6); said pre-metered amount of SAP material being delivered from a rotating delivering drum (101, 111), said drum having apertures (103a, 103b, 103c, 103d, 113a, 113b, 113c) on its periphery corresponding to the array of pockets (4, 4a), said pre-metered amount of SAP material being delivered from the inner part of said drum (101, 111) through said apertures (103a, 103b, 103c, 103d, 113a, 113b, 113c); providing a second sheet layer (7) material and affixing it for sandwiching with the first sheet layer; finishing the absorbent article.
Methods of manufacturing zoned webs
A method of manufacturing zoned webs can include providing a substrate and transferring the substrate in a machine direction. The method can include modifying the substrate to include a plurality of lanes to provide a modified substrate. The plurality of lanes can include a first lane and a second lane. The first lane can include a first zone and a second zone. The first zone can include an open area greater than an open area of the second zone. The second lane can include a third zone and a fourth zone. The third zone can include an open area greater than an open area of the fourth zone. The first lane and the second lane can be formed such that the first zone in the first lane is staggered in the machine direction from the third zone in the second lane. The method can also include slitting the modified substrate between adjacent lanes in the plurality of lanes to provide zoned webs.

Method for winding preforms
A method for winding preforms for the manufacture of tampons feeds a material tape. Strips in the form of tapes are separated from this material tape and pushed into a continuously rotating winding drum by at least one drive roller in such a way that the strip is positioned between a winding fork and a guide bar such that when the winding fork moves around the guide bar, the latter pushes a section of the strip into a fork gap of the winding fork and thus enables entrainment. Also, a corresponding device carries out the method.
