The present invention had disclosed an embedded processor based 3D acoustic imaging real-time signal processing device of modularized design; the system comprises an embedded GPU signal processing subsystem, a signal interaction subsystem and a signal acquisition subsystem. The system takes Tegra K1 embedded GPU processor as the core; Tegra K1 embedded GPU processor is provided with features of OpenGL4.4, OpenGL ES 3.1 and CUDA, which has high parallel image processing capability and abundant high-speed data interconnection interface; it is especially applicable to high-speed data transmission and effective calculation of image algorithm for 3D acoustic imaging real-time signal processing device. Meanwhile, it can realize high-speed data interaction between signal processing subsystem and numerous signal acquisition subsystems; the whole system has powerful data interaction capability and real-time parallel processing capability.

A communication module is configured to transmit the registered bathymetric image to at least a computing device. An autonomous navigation module is configured to determine a heading for the boat as a function of a path datum and command boat control to navigate the boat as a function of the heading.

The system further includes a device with a processor and a memory including computer program code that is configured to cause the device to receive sonar returns, generate sonar images based on the sonar returns, receive a user input selection indicating a first and second sonar position in the sonar images, determine a first chart location that corresponds to the first sonar position, determine a second chart location that corresponds to the second sonar position, determine a distance between the first and second chart location and cause the distance to be displayed on a user interface. Systems are also included herein for presenting sonar beam indicators on charts for noting the direction of the sonar beam.

A sonar system is provided including a display screen, a transducer assembly including at least one transducer that is configured to emit one or more sonar signals into an underwater environment and receive sonar return data reflected from one or more objects, and a sonar module configured to generate a 3D matrix based on the sonar return data including a plurality of sonar returns that are each defined by a 3D positional value, determine a group of the plurality of sonar returns associated with an object, assign a predetermined icon to the determined group, and generate and display 3D image of the sonar return data. The predetermined icon is positioned within the 3D image at a position that corresponds to the position of the determined group such that the position of the predetermined icon corresponds to the position of the object.

An apparatus for providing marine information is provided including a user interface, a processor, and a memory including computer program code. The memory and the computer program code are configured to, with the processor, cause the apparatus to generate a sonar image based on sonar return data received from an underwater environment, determine a location associated with the sonar return data based on location data received from one or more position sensors, and render a nautical chart on a display. The computer program code is further configured to cause the apparatus to receive a user input on the user interface directed to a portion of the display in which the nautical chart is presented, and modify presentation of the nautical chart such that the portion of the display presents the sonar image in response to receiving the user input.

A sonar system includes multiple sensor channels, each comprising a sonar transmitter and a sonar receiver, and a logic device configured to provide control signals and receive sensor signals from the sensor channels. The logic device is configured to provide transmission signals to sonar transducer assemblies, where signal patterns of the transmission signals are differentiated based at least in part on frequency content. Acoustic returns are processed using the signal patterns to reduce inter-channel pickup between the sensor channels. Resulting sonar data and/or imagery may be displayed to a user and/or used to adjust a steering actuator, a propulsion system thrust, and/or other operational systems of the mobile structure.
