Disposable absorbent pants with advantageous stretch and manufacturability features, and methods for manufacturing the same
A method for manufacturing a disposable absorbent pant includes forming an elasticized multilayer web and joining a third nonwoven web to it and optionally sandwiching leg and waist elastic members between one or more layers of the elasticized multilayer web and/or the third nonwoven web to form disposable absorbent pants.
Process for making a refastenable side seam, apparatus and article having that refastenable side seam
A process and an apparatus for making a refastenable side seam of an hygienic absorbent article efficiently, without the need to remove scrap and which allows refastenable side seams to be obtained which are ergonomic, aesthetically pleasing, easily identifiable by the user and such that they do not reduce the wearability of the article. The disclosure also relates to a hygienic absorbent article provided with at least one refastenable side seam. The disclosure also relates to a process and an apparatus for carrying out one or more operations on elastic panels usable for making an hygienic absorbent article provided with at least one refastenable side seam.
Apparatus and method of manufacturing an elastic composite structure for an absorbent sanitary product
An apparatus for manufacturing an elastic composite structure for an absorbent sanitary product includes an anvil with weld pattern comprising at least one anchoring region and at least one deactivating region. The anchoring region includes anchoring welds that form anchoring bonds that fuse facing web layers and anchor elastic thread(s) in position relative to the facing web layers. The deactivating region includes a break bar constructed to sever the thread(s). A method of manufacturing the elastic composite structure includes positioning a tensioned elastic thread between web layers, fusing the web layers to form an anchored zone that includes anchoring bonds that fuse the web layers and anchor the tensioned elastic thread therebetween, and cutting the thread to form a deactivated zone between adjacent portions of the anchored zone that is free of tensioned threads. The method further includes fusing the web layers within the deactivated zone.
Adult Hygiene Garment with Anti-Odor and Anti-Microbial Zones
An adult hygiene garment has multiple flexible layers shaped to form a front panel and a rear panel joined by a perineum panel, in which the perineum panel is bounded on a left edge and on a right edge by two curved leg edges, and in which at least one of the layers comprises an anti-microbial anti-odor insert below an inner liner layer.
METHODS AND APPARATUSES FOR ASSEMBLING ELASTIC LAMINATES WITH A ROTATING ROLL AND REMOVABLE LAYER
A system for ultrasonic bonding of elastic includes a rotating roll. The rotating roll has an exterior surface. A removable shell layer is attached to the external surface. The removable shell layer includes one or more patterned segments. The patterned segments include a shell channels formed through the removable shell layer to form a pattern.
CD Extensible Nonwoven Composite
A nonwoven composite that has a dimension in a machine direction and a cross-machine direction is provided. The composite comprises a nonwoven facing positioned adjacent to an elastic film. The nonwoven facing contains a spunbond web that is formed by necking a base spunbond web. The base spunbond web includes a plurality of fibers generally oriented in the machine direction and exhibiting a machine direction tensile strength and cross-machine direction tensile strength. The ratio of the machine direction tensile strength to the cross-machine direction tensile strength is about 4:1 or more.
ABSORBENT ARTICLE WITH IMPROVED CHANNELED CORE AND METHOD OF MAKING
An absorbent article comprising: a liquid permeable topsheet, a liquid impermeable backsheet, and an absorbent core positioned between said topsheet and backsheet, wherein the absorbent core comprises an absorbent material, said absorbent material comprising cellulose fibers and/or superabsorbent polymers, and wherein said absorbent material is contained within at least one core wrap substrate enclosing said absorbent material, and wherein a top layer of said core wrap is adhered to a bottom layer of said core wrap by a first adhesive to form one or more channel forming areas substantially free of said absorbent material, wherein said top layer comprises said first adhesive arranged to define a first adhesive area and said bottom layer comprises a second adhesive arranged to define a second area, wherein said first adhesive area is greater than said second adhesive area, and wherein said first and second adhesive areas comprise one or more adhesive stripes, wherein at least one of said adhesive stripes of the first adhesive area overlap said channel forming areas.
Stretch laminate with beamed elastics and formed nonwoven layer
A stretch laminate is disclosed. The stretch laminate may include a layer of nonwoven material that includes an accumulation of filaments and has an inner surface and an outer surface, the outer surface having an ordered arrangement of zones, each zone having an attenuated region adjacent to a build-up region wherein the attenuated region has a first basis weight and the build-up region has a second basis weight greater than the first basis weight, the difference in basis weights corresponding to disposition of the filaments according to the ordered arrangement. The stretch laminate may include a plurality of elastic strands space apart from each other in a crotch-stretch direction. In some examples the elastic strands may have an Average Strand Spacing no greater than 3 mm and/or an Average Decitex no greater than 300, and/or an Average Pre-Strain no greater than 250 percent.
COMPOSITE WEB
A composite web including: a first continuous web; at least one molded segment having at least one protrusion and a base portion at least partly delimiting the protrusion, the molded segment being obtained from a second continuous web; the molded segment being joined to the first continuous web by the base portion, the first continuous web and the molded segment delimiting at least one cavity at the protrusion.
COMPOSITE WEB
A composite web including a first continuous web having a first face and a second face; the first web includes a molded portion having at least one protrusion, at least partly delimited by a base portion, on the first face; the composite web includes a segment of a second continuous web joined to the second face of the first web at least at the base portion.
