Method of assembling at least two units, and a corresponding assembled structure
10765572 · 2020-09-08 · ·

A method wherein a first unit (10) is provided having a field of grip elements (12), and a second unit (20) provided with retention elements (22) suitable for co-operating with the grip elements (12) of the first unit (10) in order to provide a self-gripping fastening. The first and second units are put into contact in such a manner that the grip elements (12) of the first unit and the retention elements (22) of the second unit provide a self-gripping fastening (F). A treatment zone of the self-gripping fastening is treated in order to deform the grip elements (12) of the first unit (10) and/or the retention elements (22) of the second unit (20), whereby the first and second units (10, 20) are permanently secured to each other, thereby forming an assembled structure.

Absorbent article with elastically elongatable panel

Closure elements that include elastic and non-elastic regions are disclosed as well as absorbent articles that include closure elements.

The present invention provides a method and apparatus for increasing the number of articles processed. over a distance traveled in the machine direction of an assembly line. In particular, the orientation of the long dimension of the article is provided transverse to the machine direction, thus process rug the articles side-by-side instead of end-to-end.

Methods and apparatus for making elastic laminates

Methods and apparatuses provide for the application of viscous fluids, such as adhesives, in pre-determined patterns to elastic material positioned on an advancing substrate, wherein the elastic material may be in various forms.

Hot melt adhesive

A hot melt adhesive material and articles made using the hot melt adhesive to assemble structures in an article. The adhesive material typically is manufactured by blending amorphous polymer with a heterophase polymer having crystallinity into an adhesive composition.

METHOD OF APPLYING FASTENER ELEMENTS FOR DISPOSABLE ABSORBENT GARMENT

Methods of making disposable absorbent articles and disposable absorbent articles that comprise: a first, second, and third fastener elements to a web such that: the first fastener element is spaced from the second fastener element by a first distance along a length of the web; the second fastener element is spaced from the third fastener element by a second distance along the length of the web; and the second fastener element is disposed between the first and third fastener elements.

DEVICE FOR APPLYING SEGMENTS OF ABSORBENT ARTICLES

A device for applying segments of absorbent articles includes a cutting station for cutting a continuous web into segments and an applicator station for applying each segment on a respective absorbent article. A plurality of carrier units, each includes a pad for retaining and transferring a segment from the cutting station to the applicator station. The pad fully rotates about a main axis to transfer the segment from the cutting station to the applicator station and return to the cutting station and, from the cutting station to the applicator station, rotates at least 90 about its axis of rotation to orient the segment transverse to the feed direction of the absorbent article. A first movement member moves one or more first carrier units about the main axis and a second movement member moves one or more second carrier units separately from the first carrier units about the main axis.

PACKAGED FEMININE HYGIENE PAD PRODUCT ADAPTED FOR DISCREET CARRY AND ACCESS, AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS

A method for manufacturing feminine hygiene pad products is disclosed. The method may include: providing a continuous stream of pads moving along a machine direction; orienting each of the pads such that its longitudinal axis is substantially aligned with a cross direction; providing a continuous web of backsheet adhesive coversheet material moving along the machine direction, the material bearing a series of spaced separation perforations along cross direction lines of separation, or alternatively, providing such separation perforations; providing deposits of backsheet adhesive between the material and the pads; successively disposing the pads in contact with the material, wherein the pads are adhered to the material by the backsheet adhesive; and following such disposition of the pads, successively separating each pad, together with a portion of the material, from a following pad, and from the material, along the separation perforations, thereby creating individual pads each bearing an individual backsheet adhesive coversheet.

PACKAGED FEMININE HYGIENE PAD PRODUCT ADAPTED FOR DISCREET CARRY AND ACCESS, AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS

A product including a feminine hygiene pad in a folded configuration, provided in an individualized package is disclosed. The pad is folded separately of the package and contained within the package, and folded such that is has a singularized main fold nose.

PACKAGED FEMININE HYGIENE PAD PRODUCT ADAPTED FOR DISCREET CARRY AND ACCESS, AND MANUFACTURING PROCESS

A product including a feminine hygiene pad provided in a folded configuration within an individualized package is disclosed. The pad is folded separately of the package and contained within the package. The pad may include a backsheet adhesive coversheet including a section of polymeric film adhered to an outward-facing side of the backsheet of the pad, and a deposit of backsheet adhesive disposed between the backsheet adhesive coversheet and the backsheet, the the backsheet adhesive coversheet and the backsheet adhesive being selected and adapted such that the backsheet adhesive coversheet may be peeled away from the pad to expose the backsheet adhesive without substantial damage to a remainder of the pad, and such that the backsheet adhesive remains substantially in place and adhered to the backsheet following peeling away of the backsheet adhesive coversheet.
