SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INSPECTING AND EVALUATING QUALITIES OF PRINTED REGIONS ON SUBSTRATES FOR ABSORBENT ARTICLES
The present disclosure relates to systems and processes for inspecting and evaluating qualities of printed regions on substrates, wherein the systems and methods may be configured to eliminate subjective aspects relating to human involvement in performing visual checks when evaluating print quality. The systems may include one or more communication networks connecting one or more sensors with an analyzer. In operation, ink is applied to a substrate to create at least one printed region, and the sensors are configured to inspect the printed region. The sensors may be configured to communicate measurements and/or images to the analyzer. And the analyzer may then calculate one or more quality subscores based on respective measurements and/or images. In turn, a full print quality score may be calculated based on one or more of the quality subscores. The analyzer may then execute a control action based on the full print quality score.

The processor is configured to perform the comparison independently of a detection of any defects in the absorbent sanitary articles and is configured to identify the current malfunctioning cause, among a plurality of possible malfunctioning causes, starting from the anomalous operating parameter.
METHOD OF PREDICTIVE DETECTION OF DEFECTS IN ABSORBENT SANITARY ARTICLES
A production line of absorbent sanitary articles and method of predictive detection of defects of absorbent sanitary articles, wherein it is provided to: detect current values of operating parameters which are indicative of the current operation of at least one production device adapted to perform respective production operations on the absorbent sanitary articles being processed along the production line; perform a comparison between the current values of the detected operating parameters and respective predetermined reference values; in the presence of at least one anomalous operating parameter that does not comply with the respective predetermined reference values, identify, among a plurality of possible malfunctioning causes of the line, at least one current malfunctioning cause responsible for the at least one anomalous operating parameter; and make a prediction of any defects in the absorbent sanitary articles being processed along the line starting from the at least one current malfunctioning cause identified.
Connectable disposable wear article and method of detecting sticking defect of target sheet in manufacture thereof
Position detection of a target sheet is facilitated without requiring a register mark. A connectable disposable wear article having a crotch portion M including a center in a front-back direction LD, a ventral side part F extending forward from the center in the front-back direction LD, and a dorsal side part B extending backward from the center in the front-back direction LD, connecting portions 83 to be detachably connected to an outer surface of the ventral side part F being provided on both side portions of the dorsal side part B, a target sheet 20 to which the connecting portions 83 are connected being provided on the outer surface of the ventral side part F, in which a whiteness of all corner portions 21 on at least one of an inner surface and an outer surface of the target sheet 20 is 80% or more.
Sensor systems for absorbent articles comprising sensor gates
A sensor system for detecting a property of or within an absorbent article. The system may comprise a first sensor and a first transmitter. The sensor may be disposed in or on the absorbent article. The sensor may have a first status and may be capable of changing to a second status. The first transmitter may be capable of sensing a change in status of the sensor from the first status to the second status. The first transmitter may be capable of checking the status of the sensor noncontinuously. The first transmitter may programmed to check the status of the first sensor at least every 5 minutes but not longer than every 2 hours.
Transport unit and method for manufacturing disposable wearing articles using same
A transport unit includes: a transporting device that turns a pad 90 degrees while the pad rotates from a receiving position to a transfer position; and first and second receiving rollers that sandwich a sheet and an absorbent body between a holding surface and the respective receiving rollers at the transfer position. The holding surface includes first and second sloped surfaces that are aligned along a pad rotating shaft which extends at the transfer position. The first and second receiving rollers have outer diameters decreasing from proximal ends to distal ends and are disposed such that the distal ends are positioned on sides of first and second ends of the holding surface, respectively. The first and second receiving rollers are disposed so as to sandwich the sheet and the absorbent body between the first and second sloped surfaces and the first and second receiving rollers, respectively.
Converting lines and methods for fabricating both taped and pant diapers comprising substantially identical chassis
The present disclosure relates to taped and pant articles comprising substantially identical chassis.
Systems and Methods for Detecting and Rejecting Defective Absorbent Articles From a Converting Line
The present disclosure relates to systems and processes for detecting and rejecting defective absorbent articles from a converting line. In particular, the systems and methods may utilize feedback from technologies, such as vision systems, sensors, remote input and output stations, and controllers with synchronized embedded clocks to accurately correlate inspection results and measurements from an absorbent article converting process. As such, the systems and methods may accurately apply the use of precision clock synchronization for both instrumentation and control system devices on a non-deterministic communications network. In turn, the clock synchronized control and instrumentation network may be used to control a reject system on converters of absorbent articles. In some embodiments, the controller will reject only defective absorbent articles without the need to reject non-defective absorbent articles.
Systems and Methods for Controlling Phasing of Advancing Substrates in Absorbent Article Converting Lines
The present disclosure relates to systems and processes for controlling the relative positions or phasing of advancing substrates and/or components in absorbent article converting lines. The systems and methods may utilize feedback from technologies, such as vision systems, sensors, remote input and output stations, and controllers with synchronized embedded clocks to accurately correlate component placement detections and placement control on an absorbent article converting process. The systems and methods may accurately apply the use of precision clock synchronization for both instrumentation and control system devices on a non-deterministic communications network. In turn, the clock synchronized control and instrumentation network may be used to control the substrate position. As such, the controller may be programmed to the relative positions of substrates and components along the converting line without having to account for undeterminable delays.
