Systems and techniques are described that provide automated parking assistance for a vehicle. In some implementations, a parking assistance apparatus includes a frequency generator configured to generate a first frequency and a second frequency, and generate at least one synthesized frequency that is synthesized from the first frequency and the second frequency. The apparatus also includes a piezoelectric converter configured to, using piezoelectric effects, transmit ultrasonic waves having the at least one synthesized frequency, and receive reflected ultrasonic waves that result from the transmitted ultrasonic waves being reflected by an object. The apparatus also includes a filter unit configured to detect a predetermined frequency from the reflected ultrasonic waves.

OBJECT DETECTION DEVICE, OBJECT DETECTION METHOD, AND OBJECT DETECTION PROGRAM

An object detection apparatus detects an object in a vicinity of a moving body in a state of being mounted to the moving body. The object detection apparatus measures a reverberation frequency that is a frequency of a reverberation signal that is generated in a transceiver that externally transmits a transmission wave that is an ultrasonic wave and receives a reception wave that includes a reflected wave of the transmission wave from the object. The object detection apparatus detects a specific segment that is an occurrence segment in which occurrence of beat that is attributed to a plurality of reverberation frequency components is confirmed in the reverberation signal, or a non-occurrence segment in which the occurrence of beat does not significantly occur. The object detection apparatus sets a measurement segment in which the reverberation frequency is measured in the non-occurrence segment based on a detection result of the specific segment.

TIME-VARYING TEMPLATE FOR IMPROVED SHORT-DISTANCE PERFORMANCE IN CODED ULTRASONIC RANGING
20220035031 · 2022-02-03 ·

Ultrasonic ranging systems and methods that emit coded bursts and correlate transduced acoustical echoes of the bursts with a receive template characterizing a burst code to determine time-of-flight information use receive templates of time-variable length to improve short-range object detection. The template length is based on a time index measured from the start of the burst emission. The detection can account for a dead zone of transducer ringing following a burst. A time-variable gain that is also based on the time index can be applied to the correlated signal. The length and gain can be adjusted with reduced temporal frequency to reduce computation cost.

System and method for object position estimation based on ultrasonic reflected signals

A system for small space positioning comprises a transmitting element at a fixed and known location, which transmitting a modulated continuous wave, for example an ultrasonic wave, having a continuous carrier signal part and a base-band signal modulated thereon. The transmitting element transmits the modulated continuous wave over a range in which an object to be positioned may appear. A receiving element receives signals transmitted by the transmitting device and reflected by the object, and a position detection element determines a position of the object from analysis of both the carrier signal part and the base-band signal received from the reflected signal.
