A target detection and/or high resolution RF system is provided herein in which the resolution of a legacy target angle detection (direction of arrival) system is improved without any change to the existing hardware of the legacy target detection system. Rather, the target detection and/or high resolution RF system can apply virtual aperture postprocessing to reflected signals to achieve improvements in the detection of one or more targets.
IN-VEHICLE ACOUSTIC MONITORING SYSTEM FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER
Sound signals that are not audible are generated by one or more speakers disposed in the vehicle. Reflected sound signals from a driver or a passenger of the vehicle that are not audible are received by one or more microphones disposed in the vehicle. A behavior-induced acoustic pattern is detected based on the reflected ultrasound signals. The behavior-induced acoustic pattern is analyzed to recognize a behavior of the driver or the passenger of the vehicle. A response or an alert is generated according to the recognized behavior of the driver or the passenger in the vehicle.

Disclosed are an ultrasonic processing method and apparatus, an electronic device, and a computer-readable medium, wherein same relate to the technical field of mobile terminals. The method includes: when it is monitored that an electronic device outputs a ringing sound, acquiring audio data of an ultrasonic signal received by an ultrasonic receiving apparatus, wherein the ultrasonic signal is a signal that is transmitted by an ultrasonic transmitting apparatus and returned after same is reflected by an object; determining, according to the audio data, a change in the distance between the electronic device and the object; and adjusting the volume of the ringing according to the change in the distance.
OBJECT DETECTION APPARATUS AND OBJECT DETECTION METHOD
An object detection apparatus detects an object in a vicinity of a moving body to which it is mounted. In the object detection apparatus, first drive signal and second drive signals for driving a transmitting unit are generated and outputted to the transmitting unit. The first drive signal corresponds to a first transmission wave included in a plurality of transmission waves that are continuously transmitted from a start to an end of a transmission process of the transmission wave, and respectively encoded based on waveform patterns. The second drive signal corresponds to a second transmission wave included in the plurality of transmission waves and transmitted after the first transmission wave. Reception determination regarding the reflected wave is performed based on a frequency signal, corresponding to a waveform pattern of the reception signal, and a reference signal that corresponds to a waveform pattern of the first drive signal.
DETECTING OBJECT PROXIMITY USING TOUCH SENSITIVE SURFACE SENSING AND ULTRASONIC SENSING
Techniques enabling improved classification of touch or hover interactions of objects with a touch sensitive surface of a device are presented. A speaker of the device can emit an ultrasonic audio signal comprising a first frequency distribution. A microphone of the device can detect a reflected audio signal comprising a second frequency distribution. The audio signal can be reflected off of an object in proximity to the surface to produce the reflected audio signal. A classification component can determine movement status of the object, or classify the touch or hover interaction, in relation to the surface, based on analysis of the signals. The classification component also can classify the touch or hover interaction based on such ultrasound data and/or touch surface or other sensor data. The classification component can be trained, using machine learning, to perform classifications of touch or hover interactions of objects with the surface.
METHOD FOR IMPROVING PERFORMANCE OF A SODAR SYSTEM
This invention relates to a method of reducing error in a SODAR system adapted to locate discontinuities in the atmosphere over a range extending away from an acoustic transmitter and receiver, the method comprising the steps of: measuring wind to determine either a substantially upwind direction or a substantially downwind direction relative to the transmitter; transmitting one or more forward or reverse acoustic chirps in the substantially upwind or downwind direction; receiving one or more acoustic echoes of the transmitted chirps; and processing the acoustic echoes to provide an indication of the discontinuities in the atmosphere over the range, thereby providing a wind shear profile.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING OBJECT
An apparatus includes a drive signal generator that selectively outputs, as a drive signal, one of a first drive signal and a second drive signal. The first drive signal has a first temporal frequency change within a first frequency band that is defined from a first lowest frequency to a first highest frequency inclusive. The second drive signal has a second temporal frequency change within a second frequency band that is defined from a second lowest frequency to a second highest frequency inclusive. Each of the first and second frequency bands has a corresponding one of first and second intermediate frequencies that is defined as one of a center frequency and an average frequency of the corresponding one of the first and second frequency bands. The second intermediate frequency is different from the first intermediate frequency. The second frequency band is partially overlapped with the first frequency band.

A moving object detection system comprises: a transmission waveform setting section to set a transmission signal in such a way that a frequency of the transmission signal is linearly changed; a transmitting section to transmit the transmission signal; a receiving section to receive a reception signal resulting from a reflection of the transmission signal at an object; a Doppler coefficient estimating section to estimate a Doppler coefficient associated with a movement of the object by performing arithmetic processing on a waveform of the reception signal at a present time point and waveforms of the reception signal at one or more past time points, the one or more past time points being earlier than the present time point by one or more specified periods of time; and an object detection section to detect the object based on the transmission signal, the Doppler coefficient, and the reception signal.
