Apparatus for assisting the mobility of visually impaired people in road traffic
The apparatus comprises a wireless communication device which is to be carried by the person and has a GPS receiver, a blind guiding device with an acoustic source, a position memory, a second GPS receiver and a comparator for comparison of the position data of the GPS receivers. The communication device continuously sends attention information and, upon receipt of the attention information, the blind guiding device switches on pedestrian orientation signals, an optical release signal and acoustic release signals and/or changes their volume.
System and method for determining real-world geographic locations of multiple members
Methods and systems for determining real-world geographic locations of multiple interconnected members are provided herein. The method may include: determining distances between at least some members of a first subgroup of the multiple members; determining movement vectors of members of a second subgroup of the multiple members; determining real-world geographic locations of members of a third subgroup of the multiple members; and determining, based on the distances between the at least some members of the first subgroup, the movement vectors of the members of the second subgroup and the real-world geographic locations of the members of the third group, the real-world geographic locations of the multiple members.

System and method to determine positioning in a virtual coordinate system
A system includes a computing system configured to communicatively couple to a database configured to store a virtual coordinate system and a plurality of features associated with a representative environment associated with the virtual coordinate system. The computing system is configured to receive a first input indicative of a physical positioning of a user in a physical environment, determine a virtual positioning of the user in the virtual coordinate system based on the first input, receive a second input indicative of an updated physical positioning of the user in the physical environment, determine an updated virtual positioning of the user in the virtual coordinate system based on the second input, and output a first signal to a computing device in response to determining the updated virtual positioning of the user in the virtual coordinate system.

System and method for GPS based automatic initiation of sensor calibration
The present teaching relates to apparatus, method, medium, and implementations for initiating sensor calibration. A first GPS signal is received by a GPS receiver residing in an ego vehicle and is used to determine a first geo-position of the ego vehicle. A GPS related signal transmitted by a fiducial marker is received and is used to obtain a second geo-position of the fiducial marker. A distance between the ego vehicle and the fiducial marker is determined based on the first and second geo-positions and is used to determine whether to initiate calibration of one or more sensors using the fiducial marker.
METHODS, DEVICES, AND SYSTEMS FOR HOME BASED ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) CHARGING
Methods, devices, and systems are disclosed for home based electric vehicle (EV) charging. According to one embodiment, a method is implemented on at least one computing device. The method includes determining a plurality of media items for simultaneous viewing on a user interface (UI) associated with a home-based EV charger. The method further includes transmitting the plurality of media items to the UI associated with the home-based EV charger.
Method and apparatus to determine relative location using GNSS carrier phase
Techniques are provided which may be implemented using various methods and/or apparatuses in a vehicle to determine location relative to a roadside unit (RSU) or other nearby point of reference. Vehicles within a pre-designated range or within broadcast distance or otherwise geographically proximate to a roadside unit, through the use of broadcast or other messages sent by the vehicles and/or the RSU may share carrier GNSS phase measurement data, wherein the shared GNSS carrier phase measurement data may be utilized to control and coordinate vehicle movements, velocity and/or position by the RSU and/or to determine location of each vehicle relative to the RSU and/or to other vehicles or determine the absolute location of each vehicle. An RSU may coordinate vehicle access to an intersection, manage vehicle speeds and coordinate or control vehicle actions such as slowing, stopping, and changing lanes or sending a vehicle to a particular location.
METHOD FOR MOBILE BACKHAUL LINK SETUP AND MANAGEMENT
A method for setting up a mobile backhaul link, performed by a hub in a mobile backhaul system, may comprise: calculating a separation distance between the hub and a mobile backhaul terminal using GPS position information; selecting a beam width and a beam search scheme of at least one beam to be used for setting up the mobile backhaul link according to the separation distance; transmitting ID(s) of the at least one beam to the mobile backhaul terminal through the at least one beam having the beam width according to the beam search scheme; receiving the ID(s) of the at least one beam and a measurement result of the at least one beam from the mobile backhaul terminal; and selecting a first beam having a largest signal strength according to the measurement result, wherein the first beam is used for setting up the mobile backhaul link.
