APPARATUS FOR KNOTTING DRAWSTRINGS OF MEDICAL DEVICES OR MEDICAL DEVICES CONTAINING DRUGS
The present invention provides an apparatus for making knots in a flexible element attached to a medical device and methods using said apparatus.
Nonwoven unit
The current invention concerns an improved method for intermittently providing strips of a continuous first web material onto a continuous second web material, in particular a method for manufacturing tampon blanks, in a continuous process, thus avoiding the disadvantages of stop-and-go methods. Furthermore, an apparatus or system is provided for executing said methods.
Tampon and method for making same
Tampons that provide a balance of adequate absorption with sufficient expansion properties during absorption and a relatively small initial diameter for comfortable insertion are provided.
Composition For Thin Walled Molded Parts
A polymer composition comprising an organic polymer and a mica containing effect pigment, e.g., a pearlescent pigment comprising mica, well suited for producing molded articles, in particular, for molding articles comprising thin sections and or delicate features, such as a hollow interior defined by a thin wall or structural features susceptible to tear or other damage and the like, is provided as are a method for preparing molded articles comprising the polymer composition and articles comprising the polymer composition, including, for example, an article used to deliver a medical or personal care component such as a tampon applicator, and a method for preparing molded articles comprising the polymer composition. Optionally, articles of the present disclosure have a varying translucency or opacity about a dimension of the article.
MOLDING THERMOPLASTIC INJECTION-MOLDED AND FLUSHABLE MATERIALS
A method for forming an injection-molded part includes applying a coating to a mold cavity; maintaining a water-dispersible, thermoplastic composition at a temperature between 170 C. and 190 C., wherein the thermoplastic composition comprises partially-hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), polyethylene glycol (PEG), plasticizer, and a hydrophobic polymeric component, wherein the composition has a melt flow rate of from 40 grams per 10 minutes to 160 grams per 10 minutes when subjected to a load of 2160 grams at a temperature of 190 C. according to ASTM Test Method D1238-E; injecting the thermoplastic composition into the mold cavity; shaping the thermoplastic composition into a molded part within the mold cavity; and maintaining the mold temperature at less than 20 C.
TAMPON AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
Tampons that provide a balance of adequate absorption with sufficient expansion properties during absorption and a relatively small initial diameter for comfortable insertion are provided.
Method and Apparatus for Manufacturing a Tampon Packaging
The invention pertains to a method for manufacturing a tampon packaging (24), comprising the steps of: a) wrapping a strip of heat-sealable film (23) around a holding means (1, 18), whereby a first transversal end (27) of said strip overlaps with a second transversal end (28) of said strip; b) heat sealing said first transversal end (27) to said second transversal end (28), thereby forming a tube of film, and c) removing said tube of film from said holding means, thereby obtaining a tampon packaging, characterized in that said heat sealing step (b) is performed at least partly during a combined movement of said holding means (1, 18) and said strip (23). The invention further pertains to related apparatuses, systems of tampon and tampon packaging and methods for manufacturing a packaged tampon.
Fluid Absorber and Method of Making Same
The present disclosure relates to fluid absorbers, along with a process for making the fluid absorber, which may be used, for example, by Parkinson's disease patients. The fluid absorber may include individual units that are folded into each other. The fluid absorber may be folded into a rectangle or square. The fluid absorber is then placed into an antimicrobial solution, and left to dry. In this way, a fluid absorber may have antimicrobial properties that reduce or eliminate tooth decay associated with hypersalivation. The fluid absorber is then placed inside the patient's mouth where it absorbs saliva until it becomes saturated. The fluid absorber may then be disposed.
Apparatus for knotting drawstrings of medical devices or medical devices containing drugs
The present invention provides an apparatus for making knots in flexible element attached to a medical device and methods using said apparatus.
READY-TO-USE, HYDROPHILIC, SELF-DISPERSIVE, FRAGMENTABLE AND BIODEGRADABLE POROUS SPONGE MATRIX AND A METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF
The invention relates to porous absorbent Composite Material, which may be used e.g. in the form of a plug or tampon, for instance for controlling bleeding, wound closure, prevent tissue adhesion and/or support tissue regeneration. The invention provides a hydrophilic Self-Dispersive, fragmentable and Bio-Absorbable Porous Composite foams, suitable for packing antrum or other cavities of the body, comprising of composite of polymers, which polymer preferably comprises C(O)O; NH2/3+; OH; CH2OCH2C(O)O groups as functional or CHO (e.g. C2H4O; C6H10O5; C6H8O6); CHNO (e.g. C8H13NO5); OCC (e.g. O-CH2-CH2); C(O)N groups in the backbone of the polymers e.g. gelatin, chitosan, collagen, alginate, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, keratin, cellulose.
