A TAMPON
20220087875 · 2022-03-24 ·

A tampon including a body having a longitudinal axis, a front end, a rear end and an outer surface. The body including a liquid-absorbing material operable to absorb and/or retain bodily fluid. A bore extending through the body along the longitudinal axis from the front end to the rear end, said bore defining an inner surface. The tampon also including a liquid-impermeable layer, which includes a liquid-impermeable elastic material and a liquid-permeable layer. The liquid-absorbing material is a fluid. One of the liquid-impermeable layer or the liquid-permeable layer is on at least a portion of the outer surface of the body of the tampon. The other of the liquid-impermeable layer or the liquid-permeable layer is on at least a portion of the inner surface of the body. In use, the liquid-impermeable layer and the liquid-permeable layers are operable to move between a first configuration and a second configuration.

Collapsible menstrual cup

The collapsible menstrual cup prevents spillage by absorbing menstrual fluids. Separating the absorbent elements into discrete pieces allows for a nested, collapsed, flat state, and an expanded, separated state. Discrete pieces being individual elements able to move with respect to each other, in contrast to a unified layer of material that would fold when moved from a flat shape to a cupped shape. Thus, storing multiple devices on one's person is simplified without compromising functionality. The absorbent elements are shaped like flower petals, radiating outward from a central point. At the center is an optional central absorbent element. In the collapsed position the absorbent elements take positions in close proximity, nesting next to each other. In the expanded position for use, the absorbent elements spread out, allowing the reservoir to expand, preparing for use.

The tampon insertion device according to the present invention includes a barrel having an insertion end portion and a proximal end portion opposite the insertion end portion and having a continuous side wall extending therebetween that defines an interior area. A tampon is initially positioned in the interior area of the barrel. The tampon insertion device includes a plunger slidably coupled to the barrel that has a first end engaging a proximal end of the tampon, the plunger having a cylindrical configuration selectively slidable from a starter configuration extending away from the proximal end portion of the barrel to a deployed configuration positioned downstream inside the interior area of the barrel. Pressure applied to the plunger causes the plunger to urge the tampon downstream within the interior area of the barrel. The tampon insertion device, i.e. the tampon applicator, is constructed using a material consisting essentially of hemp plastic.

An introducer used to insert a urinary incontinence device into a vagina. The introducer includes a housing including a vaginal insertion tube at a proximal end of the housing and a storage section at a distal end of the housing. The storage section is shaped and dimensioned for storage of the urinary incontinence device prior to insertion and the vaginal insertion tube is shaped and dimensioned for the passage of the urinary incontinence device therethrough. The dimensions of the storage section are such that the urinary incontinence device contained therein is in its deployed non-compressed state allowing the urinary incontinence device to be stored in its non-compressed state prior to use. The introducer also includes a plunger which travels within the housing.
